Ok im LvL 13 and I like the game alot ive crashed 4 times on loading screens but was able to log right back in. I run it on med setting untill I run into lag then drop it to low setting Bam no more lag for me . also I hope any one out there that want to try this game does so and judges it for them self.

I also find you to be one of the more problematic members of this community with your constant trolling and attacks on people that don't agree with you, so I guess its my problem as well. You've been doing it for as long as I've had been visiting these forums, which has been about 8 months I think. Everyone that doesn't agree with you, you attack and try to drive out, trying to squelch opinions, then you go hunting for another target to take your frustrations out on. Though it would be best if you decided to just grow up and act like an adult on your own, you've been doing it for so long I'm not holding my breath.

Are there trolls? Yes. However I see more potential customers, as anyone can get the full refund on their game reserve and as such none of us ARE current customers, that are having some issues with the way this is being handled so close to launch.

AoC is a bad quality game...the only reason people THINK it has good quality graphics is cause the LIGHTING is over the top...meaning its way to much....the textures are trying to be covered up. As for game play....? The game feels VERY NarroW....the starting area was so...you cant go anywhere but straight. I maxd level and the areas after the first city...BORING and not very open....
WoW is redundant in game play but AoC and other MMOs can learn alot from them in the sense of landscape....

A game that doesn't get you hooked at the start is not going to do well long term. Saying it doesn't start 'til level 20 is conceding the point.
Look at World of Warcraft. If you ask the majority of people they'll all more or less tell you that the game starts at 70. Wandering through the world doing quests over and over again with barely another soul around surely makes people want to play a multiplayer game more right? I mean if the game was worth playing through the lower levels people might actually be found in the lower level areas instead of speeding through and power leveling one another with the fastest possible options while more or less disregarding the others around unless they can somehow benefit from their presence.

I got my warlock to 70, and after killing Gruul and defeating Karazhan I was like WOW! its just like leveling UP to 70 only i'm limited to the number of instances I can play and I stopped getting exp and am grinding REPUTATION instead!

This is generally why I hate beta teting to begin with. People complain about the game when it is still in the stress-testing phase and they dont have full access to the game yet. I almost wish that MMOs didnt beta test so I could play on day one with out having listened to hundreeds of uninformed opinions first.

In every single one which is buggy,unfinished or boring(not saying all applies to AoC) the devs CLASSICALLY tell us of unreleased content,fixes,server upgrade and the list goes on and on.
Face it what you see at this stage is 99.999% likely to be the final product .I mean the discs are already been printed for god sakes and there be no miracle patch.
The only game that felt different few weeks to end of beta and live version was EQ2 and that was purely the server performance and thats because they just created more instances which was hardly a good fix IMHO.All the bugs and imbalances went live with it as well.
It is somthing diffrent and I am looking forward to it; so I hear (I'm not in beta yet) AoC plays much diffrently than most MMOs (not sugesting thats good or bad). The system reqs are not over the top though I am basing that off what I have seen in the boards and what Funcom gives for min and sugested reqs. I have read a lot of talk about this and that but not much on the general fun factor of the game.
So how would you rate AoC in just strait up fun, in comparison to games past no matter the genre?
Is it fun to hack and slash or does it get tedious after a bit?
One of the things I didn't like about WoW is that though its fun the first time you hit max or get your mount; once you have done it once its no longer entertaining, i.e. for me any way WoW has a low replay value, I know being in beta it would be hard if not imposible to judge the replay value of AoC but is there more to AoC than new skills to get, items or areas to unlock etc.? I offten times thought WoW could be that much better if it had some more fluff (aspects which did not nessisarly lend to a gain in power or skill but did give you somthing to do besids level or PvP i.e. player housing, trophys, collectables, etc.) This is actualy one of the few aspects of EQ2 that I really liked again it is a good game (EQ2) but what I really liked is that I could have just as much fun in a play session killing not a single mob as I could if I gained 10 levels in that session same for DAoC; granted this is a matter of play style but is important I think as eventualy you will hit max level, you will rack up tons of PvP/RvR points or what ever they are using so what do you do when thats done? role another toon (not my favorit thing to do, I like to play my main to death) I know we have player built cities and that will be fun but I would also like to see some PvE/fluff, like collecting trophys from named mobs to display or brag about, grab up collections of rare items, uncover deeply or difficult to find aspects of the lore, etc.

I agree with you, AoC has gone gold (means code frezz and that they have mastered the disk {printing the distrabutable disks})
I'm not saying they are or are not using the gold build in the open beta it is completly reasonable that they would use an older client build if one of the purposes of the open beta is a stress on the servers but they could get the same effect (stress the servers) with any client build really as what you are playing on your computer (a client) doesn't nessisarly reflect what the server side is and in stress its the number of pakets sent and receved with or without error that count not the client its self. . . though if you gona stress test might as well test teh client and see how it fairs with a stressed out server i.e. timeouts, latancy, etc. I persoanly understand and expect a shaky start with a MMO I have played a great many of them and historicaly a MMO has a rough launch I have enjoyed most of them as well rough launch or not in fact I kind of like seeing the progresion from the rough shaky 1st distrabutable through the various stages of refinment.
I have seen a few MMOs launch that where just about unplayable at start (and Im sure that runs off qite a few players) but they ended up being good games. Horizons for example is still a shaky buggy game, but its fun imo; WoW was one of the more stable at launch games that I have played its fun lacks some replay value for me personaly but fun for awhile. DAoC had a real rough start and it seemed most of there early patches just made it worce but that is actualy still today my favorit MMO. . . I woudl still pay $50 for the box set even with its dated graphics and clunky UI.
I really dont see what the buzz is about flippe'n out over the state of the game at current; if you'r not comfortable with its stability then hold out, maybe try it later or grab a buddy key from a friend, its not like AoC's succses or failuer is going to end your life or bring down the game industry. Its a game a completly option purly for entertainment thing as much as I love them it really doesn't pain me if a few burn out or blow up. . . I'll still buy them even the ones I know are going to be bad because I love to game. . . the $80 or however much it is I am spending on AoC collector edition isn't going to kill me if its a complet loss, if the cost of the game is going to kill you then you shouldn't buy it good game or not. . . so what do have to loss a few hours of your time and money you where going to spend on an unnessary purly for entertainment thing. . . so you worst case you lost some entertainment value its not the end of the world there will be other games. . . there are plenty of fun games you likely alredy have and lots you play or at least try for free. . . I do not see this reason behind all the angery post flying around. . . (Not sugesting ArmyAnt's post was angry).
sorry you didn't take to it. Personally I played a bit of WoW and thought "wtf is this shit?" Got hooked HARD on AoC from the first moment I played it. But this is why we have so many games....different people have different tastes.

WhargOul was hooked from the gitgo. AoC has succeeded for him. He didnt' have to wait until level 20 to get the fever.

I love how people make broad statements about a game and then defend it as if it were a universal truth. If the OP was really concerned about other peoples money he could just make a post stating what he didn't like about the game and move on. Posting over and over and calling people names doesn't make me want to listen to what he has to say.
I've played every mmo to come down the pike since AC1 and EQ came out. I've enjoyed various aspects of each and every game. Even the ones ive considered complete trash. Every one of them was worth the money I "wasted." In this day and age $50 is half a tank of gas. Less if its one of my work vehicles.
On a side note. This is my first post in 10 + years of following the mmo community. Mostly I read it for feedback or information on specific game mechanics. However, I find myself saddened at the lack of consideration and basic humanity gamers treat eachother with. Good luck searching for that "perfect" game. I know its always the "next" one.

Hold on, whoa, and stop the presses. WoW has never, and will never be an open world. At the time WoW launched only EQ2 felt more closed to me. Sure, Games have followed WoW pretty closely since, but WoW's invisible walls were my main reason for leaving the game a month after launch. I never looked back, and if wide open space is your thing, it sounds like both games are going to suck.
And WAR? If it's as "open" as wow. Shoot it now...

WoW is redundant in game play but AoC and other MMOs can learn alot from them in the sense of landscape....
I am the majority....im just one of the few who waste his time telling people like yourself its gonna not do well. Warhammer will blow everyone out of the water...because they did like WoW and made a OPEN WORLD with no real rules....and doesnt make you go in a straight line.

People screeming for top end graphics just shot them self's in the foot, I really really think most of you AoC fans have no clue on what can or can't be done. So you got with you asked for now live with it, and I hope most of you AoC fans don't switch over to the Warhammer forums.

if you are having problems with the graphics get a new video card.
Look at World of Warcraft. If you ask the majority of people they'll all more or less tell you that the game starts at 70. Wandering through the world doing quests over and over again with barely another soul around surely makes people want to play a multiplayer game more right? I mean if the game was worth playing through the lower levels people might actually be found in the lower level areas instead of speeding through and power leveling one another with the fastest possible options while more or less disregarding the others around unless they can somehow benefit from their presence.

I got my warlock to 70, and after killing Gruul and defeating Karazhan I was like WOW! its just like leveling UP to 70 only i'm limited to the number of instances I can play and I stopped getting exp and am grinding REPUTATION instead!

Endgame should not "be the game" and it most certianly IS NOT the game when we're speaking of WoW.
I had MUCH more fun LEVELING to 70 than BEING 70
in most MMOs, the "endgame" has no interest for me

This is generally why I hate beta teting to begin with. People complain about the game when it is still in the stress-testing phase and they dont have full access to the game yet. I almost wish that MMOs didnt beta test so I could play on day one with out having listened to hundreeds of uninformed opinions first.

In every single one which is buggy,unfinished or boring(not saying all applies to AoC) the devs CLASSICALLY tell us of unreleased content,fixes,server upgrade and the list goes on and on.
Face it what you see at this stage is 99.999% likely to be the final product .I mean the discs are already been printed for god sakes and there be no miracle patch.
The only game that felt different few weeks to end of beta and live version was EQ2 and that was purely the server performance and thats because they just created more instances which was hardly a good fix IMHO.All the bugs and imbalances went live with it as well.
It is somthing diffrent and I am looking forward to it; so I hear (I'm not in beta yet) AoC plays much diffrently than most MMOs (not sugesting thats good or bad). The system reqs are not over the top though I am basing that off what I have seen in the boards and what Funcom gives for min and sugested reqs. I have read a lot of talk about this and that but not much on the general fun factor of the game.
So how would you rate AoC in just strait up fun, in comparison to games past no matter the genre?
Is it fun to hack and slash or does it get tedious after a bit?
One of the things I didn't like about WoW is that though its fun the first time you hit max or get your mount; once you have done it once its no longer entertaining, i.e. for me any way WoW has a low replay value, I know being in beta it would be hard if not imposible to judge the replay value of AoC but is there more to AoC than new skills to get, items or areas to unlock etc.? I offten times thought WoW could be that much better if it had some more fluff (aspects which did not nessisarly lend to a gain in power or skill but did give you somthing to do besids level or PvP i.e. player housing, trophys, collectables, etc.) This is actualy one of the few aspects of EQ2 that I really liked again it is a good game (EQ2) but what I really liked is that I could have just as much fun in a play session killing not a single mob as I could if I gained 10 levels in that session same for DAoC; granted this is a matter of play style but is important I think as eventualy you will hit max level, you will rack up tons of PvP/RvR points or what ever they are using so what do you do when thats done? role another toon (not my favorit thing to do, I like to play my main to death) I know we have player built cities and that will be fun but I would also like to see some PvE/fluff, like collecting trophys from named mobs to display or brag about, grab up collections of rare items, uncover deeply or difficult to find aspects of the lore, etc.

I agree with you, AoC has gone gold (means code frezz and that they have mastered the disk {printing the distrabutable disks})
I'm not saying they are or are not using the gold build in the open beta it is completly reasonable that they would use an older client build if one of the purposes of the open beta is a stress on the servers but they could get the same effect (stress the servers) with any client build really as what you are playing on your computer (a client) doesn't nessisarly reflect what the server side is and in stress its the number of pakets sent and receved with or without error that count not the client its self. . . though if you gona stress test might as well test teh client and see how it fairs with a stressed out server i.e. timeouts, latancy, etc. I persoanly understand and expect a shaky start with a MMO I have played a great many of them and historicaly a MMO has a rough launch I have enjoyed most of them as well rough launch or not in fact I kind of like seeing the progresion from the rough shaky 1st distrabutable through the various stages of refinment.
I have seen a few MMOs launch that where just about unplayable at start (and Im sure that runs off qite a few players) but they ended up being good games. Horizons for example is still a shaky buggy game, but its fun imo; WoW was one of the more stable at launch games that I have played its fun lacks some replay value for me personaly but fun for awhile. DAoC had a real rough start and it seemed most of there early patches just made it worce but that is actualy still today my favorit MMO. . . I woudl still pay $50 for the box set even with its dated graphics and clunky UI.
I really dont see what the buzz is about flippe'n out over the state of the game at current; if you'r not comfortable with its stability then hold out, maybe try it later or grab a buddy key from a friend, its not like AoC's succses or failuer is going to end your life or bring down the game industry. Its a game a completly option purly for entertainment thing as much as I love them it really doesn't pain me if a few burn out or blow up. . . I'll still buy them even the ones I know are going to be bad because I love to game. . . the $80 or however much it is I am spending on AoC collector edition isn't going to kill me if its a complet loss, if the cost of the game is going to kill you then you shouldn't buy it good game or not. . . so what do have to loss a few hours of your time and money you where going to spend on an unnessary purly for entertainment thing. . . so you worst case you lost some entertainment value its not the end of the world there will be other games. . . there are plenty of fun games you likely alredy have and lots you play or at least try for free. . . I do not see this reason behind all the angery post flying around. . . (Not sugesting ArmyAnt's post was angry).

WhargOul was hooked from the gitgo. AoC has succeeded for him. He didnt' have to wait until level 20 to get the fever.

I love how people make broad statements about a game and then defend it as if it were a universal truth. If the OP was really concerned about other peoples money he could just make a post stating what he didn't like about the game and move on. Posting over and over and calling people names doesn't make me want to listen to what he has to say.
I've played every mmo to come down the pike since AC1 and EQ came out. I've enjoyed various aspects of each and every game. Even the ones ive considered complete trash. Every one of them was worth the money I "wasted." In this day and age $50 is half a tank of gas. Less if its one of my work vehicles.
On a side note. This is my first post in 10 + years of following the mmo community. Mostly I read it for feedback or information on specific game mechanics. However, I find myself saddened at the lack of consideration and basic humanity gamers treat eachother with. Good luck searching for that "perfect" game. I know its always the "next" one.
AoC is a bad quality game...the only reason people THINK it has good quality graphics is cause the LIGHTING is over the top...meaning its way to much....the textures are trying to be covered up. As for game play....? The game feels VERY NarroW....the starting area was so...you cant go anywhere but straight. I maxd level and the areas after the first city...BORING and not very open....

Hold on, whoa, and stop the presses. WoW has never, and will never be an open world. At the time WoW launched only EQ2 felt more closed to me. Sure, Games have followed WoW pretty closely since, but WoW's invisible walls were my main reason for leaving the game a month after launch. I never looked back, and if wide open space is your thing, it sounds like both games are going to suck.And WAR? If it's as "open" as wow. Shoot it now...

if you judge the game of beta u fail man i not even bothering to get in in beta as i want to judge the game when its complete there still be bugs. and i will have a month to see if its good or bad and if its bad oh well its like 25£ not so much these days.
