in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Ok, whens this going to start guys and trolls?

 

I bought the Open beta Collectors Edition preorder from my Local HMV and after heading to www.war-europe.com/collectorsedition like the ll ooklet says, it asks me to make an account (I was logged in at the time on the website) and then doesn't give me a place to put the damn codes...

 

Could someone enlighten me as it really was annoying me last night

    That part of the site isn't up yet but that's no big deal as OB is still quite a way off.

    You can only input the OB code right now and you do it in your beta center account.  The same place you use to apply for CB and update your DXDIAG.  Put it in the promotional code area.   Type it in and don't copy paste it dashes and all.

    Haven;t gotten the promo codes bit, not only that, but to get to that bit for the DXDiag input, it wantsme to make a new account and I'm not making a new account...

     

    and can't copy and paste, this is the retail pack with written down code

     

    And the beta is a way off?  then why are they now selling the preorderpack advertising the open beta?

    ok...you are still going to be in the open beta now arnt you ? so i wouldnt really complain ..     once the euro site is up and running..

     

    mind you paper is not useless  the most powerful peace aggrements and declarations of war where sign on paper

    At least you have your codes. I'm still waiting on Play.com to send them out... they did say May, but maybe they meant the end of?

    just looking at my downloads form Amazon and have noticed that my codes expire June 08.... What is up with that.  The codes originally exp in Dec 08/09, but now 2 say they exp in June.   Oh.. and I had to reorder the game (CE) as Amazon cancelled my order after I ok'd the extended releease date...

    Maybe the EU amazon was different but the US amazon ALWAYS had the codes expiring on June 9th. I ordered it within the first hour of it going live so unless they changed it after that...

    they're not selling the codes they're a promotional item for people buying the collector's edition...even if they didn't have the codes the CE would be the same price therefore you're getting something 'extra' for no extra charge.  Its a perk..and to complain over a perk you can't instantly use is silly.

    Alot of games do this and most of them give them out before you can use the codes.  There's no account system yet (since the game isn't out until fall) so there for you can't enter the head start or the item codes.  As for the Beta Codes well thats just forgien companies for you it has nothing to do with EA or Mythic since GoA is its own company they handle the European website.    

    EA Mythic's website on the other hand lets you enter the Open Beta key into your Beta Account...

    there's really no reason to Whine or be Annoyed...entering it does nothing for you at this point anyway.  

    Honestly I get tired of the EA bashing..not that I fully trust or like them (personally until they prove they've changed like they said they have and so far they're showing good signs of doing so...I'll always dislike them for their mind slaving horrible attitude towards employees). 

    Bashing them over something they're giving you as a perk for being a CE pre order buyer is just down right rude if not a self important I should get everything I want right now handled to me on a silver platter type attitude.  No offense but....try and think with reason and logic more often...

    I pre-ordered at my local gamestop and they said they dont even have the pre-order open beta codes yet

    Gamestops were giving out the codes (and still are) to any one who ordered the game, (regular or collectors) instead of just the CE.  So if they don't have the codes, they probably wont be getting them, atleast not soon.  The gamestop I useually goto gave me the run around for 3 weeks.  I happened to stop by another gamestop and asked them if they had any, they did so I preordered there and canceled my preorder from the other store. 

    The store I origionaly preordered from still hasn't recieved any new keys.

    I know amazon was handing them out instantly, can't promise that's still the case though.

    You don't buy a pre order key...You buy the collector's edition and as a Perk you get the keys.

    If your a veteran newsletter subscirber you have the biggest chance to get in OB, if you ra contest winner you definitly get in, and they'll probably give away keys through contests & the usual channels like fileplanet.   You definitly get in if you've been Closed Testing.

    They want people to get into OB so there will be other ways besides just the CE...the CE promotion with the codes is like just that extra 'thank you' that icing in the cake for the big fans & the collectors.

    No their isn't? we are talking £9.99 for god sakes ,get a paper round or a job . The CE/Pre-order also comes with in game items so its in your interest to buy the CE-pre-order.

    i was askin because i wanted to test the game before i buy it. imo it shouldnt cost somethin if ppl just wanna test it for few days. but anyways i will wait till they give away somethin like trial keys when the game is released.

    you really should read around...Open Beta's are not Free Trials .    If you want a free trial wait a few months after release when most games put out a free trial client.    I'm sure there'll be otherways to get into the OB just expect to probably be a fileplanet paying customer to get in.

    read what i wrote..i said if i cant get into the beta i will wait till they give away some trial keys when the game is released.

    and anyways imo they shouldnt ask for money for the beta because they want the ppl to help them test the game and find the buggs etc.

     my bad then Khar!!    Don't give up hope though...i doubt WAR will totally exclude people who arent' CE or previous testers it wouldn't make much sense from a marketing standpoint.
