    Well, I don't play it, but I just recently read that after 3 months unsubscribed, your account is DELETED - gone, poofed, no more.  You have to buy a new box to play again.

    Oh, and it's in their manual, somewhere.

    Dumb.

    As long you only canceld your ffxi conetent id you can create new one or between 3 month reactivate the old ones.

    if you deleted your playonline account then go buy a new box.

    WHICH IS A JOKE! Thats absolutely rediculous. I just found that out a couple of days ago ( notice my thread...) and that royally pissed me off. Thats a pretty shoddy move to cast at your very own customers but hey, what can you say, Thats SOE..... If Sony was any one bit interested in maintining their rank, they should ditch everything under the logo for Online gaming and stick to Console games...

    i'm not entirely sure, so don't quote me on it, but i don't think SOE has anything to do with Final Fantasy XI. This is pretty much Square-Enix's to control.

    SOE stands for Sony Online Entertainment

    I made the mistake of confusing the developer of FFXI with the same developer as SWG.. for some reason... I guess Square_Enix and Sony wanted to be added together in my head for some reason as same thing.. But they are not... So yeah :)

    thats not true...mine was inactive for 5 months and it was still there....all 4 of them

    I'm not saying you're lieing....I just got lucky I guess

    thats not true...mine was inactive for 5 months and it was still there....all 4 of them

    I believe our problem was that we actually unsubscribed from Playonline.. If you were inactive for 5 months AND unsubscribed, there is no way, humanly possible thta you could still be playing, But if you were inactive but not unsubscribed, than sure, you probably gonna be ok. Its just that some people, like myself just kind of put 2 and 2 togethor and said hmm.. cancel account.... why not unsubscribe from the playonline thing as well? Wouldnt hurt... Sadly.. we were mistaken.... Very Sadly...

    if you are thinking of coming back next month they are releasing an expansion pack to FFXI and it will add a lot of cool stuff, so it might spark your interest again.
