Shall i do it?

in Final Fantasy XI

I have been thinking for a long tome about getting ffxi (PC) and now the European release is iminent, its getting to the stage where i want to make sure its what i really want to do..

Everything i seen and heard about ffxi i like or is in acceptable limits, i have a powerfull friend who is a current player and wants me to join. the only other MMORPG i have ever liked is Ultima Online because i like crafting. and the crafting as much as i do having fun with groups ffxi loooks ok engough for these..

But i want some input from current players.. so what do people think?

    If your going into crafting then wait  for WoW or go for Lineage 2 because this games crafting is the most expensive thing I have ever seen in my life...Beleave me its not cheap crafting in this game...I would rather save my gil for equipement since thats the most expensive thing in the game is equipement.
