Is the fighting system is fastpaced or slow?
How is the lvl grindin is it like Diablo 2 or Lineage 2 type or in between?
How much stuff do you need for crafting is it only ingots or is it ingots plus 20 million items like in lineage 2?
FYI i was a ex-lineage 2 player.
Comments
1) From the few videos I have seen, the fighting is of pretty good speed. From the beginning, you can find and kill things quickly, so that is good.
2)Blizzard has ultimately tried to eliminate the level grind. Or atleast make it fun. I think they made it fun because of how the questing system is set up, it is much more rewarding to quest somewhere rather than to camp a certain mob. There are always exceptions.
3)Crafting is somewhat easy. Let me find you a link to all of the tradeskills and you will be able to check it out yourself.

I hope I was helpful.

If you get up one more time than you fall down, you will make it through.
1) The fighting is really really smooth. Right from the begining you get nice fast runs between your target creeps with little down-time. Blizzard moved to keep their point system low to decrease down time between fights but at the same time make the battles themselves as they are in truth, rough and fast.
2) As for grinding I have found no use for it. I have a lvl 34 Paladin on the PvP server and have yet to grind for any of my xp. I am never without a doable quest to supply me with the adequate xp for leveling. However, they creeps themselves will supply adequate ammounts of xp if its your style to go out and grind your hours away, quest though are alot more effecient use of your time.
3) I have found instinses where it may be better to equip quest-given or creep-dropped items as opposed to tradeskill made ones. However there have been nearly just as many times where either I or another player could easily make me some item that could be better than anything else I have access to. This is cause blizzard made some sweet items that can be found in recipe, or plan form. These plans allow the correct skillman to make "rare" items, though they are adeqauatly harder to make. Either way I would move to say that WoW has a near perfect balance of crafted to dropped items in terms of usefullness.

1. the fighting system is fast pased(not like ffXI) and keeps you busy
2. first of all diablo2 and linage2 are both horrible games. dont worrie about lvling it is something you dont have to grind.
3. not too familiar with the tradeskill setup but once again lineage2 is a bad game and it will be better than it.

As far as grind , i haven't really had a time where i went to a specific place to lvl ( grind ) since i always have quest open , right now im lvl 21 and i have 17 active quest to do lol but the thing is that lvls come bit slow and for me at least the XP bonus from completing quest are very welcomed.
As far as item requirments for crafting its not really the number of items u need its the lvl of items and ur crafting skill. The higher lvl craft u have the high lvl items u will need to make something. The only problem for me is that i never really could use any of the items i make ( Black Smith & Minning / Leatherworking & Skinning ) so i really make items to lvl up skill then sell them for cash.

Fighting is fast-paced ! I play with my husband so we are always group fighting. The downtime between fights is extremely minimal. By the end of our play sessions, my hands hurt!
Level grind? From the time I started up until level 35, I didn't even notice my exp bar. I was exploring, questing and having so much fun. Often times I would 'ding' and it would be very unexpected. I must admit, that has slowed down a little bit after 35. But so far, it is not even close to the grind that EQ or DAOC was.
While you didn't ask about the art style, I am going to inject my opinion. Before getting into the beta, I didn't think I would ever play WOW because it looked like a cartoon. However, after being in the world and experiencing it... it is beautiful. There are so many details, so many objects. It is just amazing to play.
You've got some good answers here regarding the grind and combat, so let me touch alittle on your tradeskill queston.
Tradeskills come in two categorys, collection and combine (for lack of better terms).
Collection skills (Herbalism, Mining, Skinning to name 3) are skills where all you have to do is play the game. As you play, you build up these skills. So, if you have skinning and you kill a beast you gain skill lvl by skinning it.
Combine skills take materials. Materials gathered by other players and/or made. For example Tailoring a Pearl Clasped Cloak; for the cloak you need 3 bolts of wool, 2 fine threads and 1 small lustrous pearl. Now bolts of wool are made by a tailor, 3 pieces of wool = 1 bolt. wool is dropped off mobs (common). Fine thread is sold by tailoring vendors, cheap. The pearl is mob dropped and fairly uncommon. Can also be purchased from other players.
So, in this instance, the cloak took, imo, a few ingredients. Not to hard to make or come by. Most components can be found while doing normal quests or grinding. What you can't find, you can prolly buy. Also, this was an extreme example as most items only require bolts of linen/wool/silk/magecloth + 1 or 2 other items.
Same can be said for engineering and blacksmithing (to name 2 other combine skills)

Thank u all for the answers!!
It seems that my future orc warrior will be a blacksmith/miner.
How is the economy in WoW for now?
hmm... Jagged. Look at this way, despite constant server crashes, you have a limited player base. Within that base -> Beta Phase 1 - all the players start off together, learn together, first one to learn something new, makes a killing, prices are high. As other players catchup, prices drop.
Now, you have Beta Phase 2 - Flood of new players dive in and need basic components for tradeskills and gear. Prices go up. As these players mature and learn the game, prices slowly go back down.
Then you get Beta Phase 3 (current) - Flood of new players dive and start working on their skills/trade/items and until they start to cap out, prices sky rocket. Once they reach their peak, and this is happening now, prices start to fall.
What your seeing is wave dynamics. You don't have a constant influx of new players to maintain any kind of price lvl. Prices rise with new players, then drop as they gain skills and knowledge. Without having a new customer base, you don't have any buyers. Repeat buyers are rare as most players are also learning skills. This is just the way it's going to stay, as long as the player base is small and only added to in waves.

yes i made a mistake with the first of all comment.
im sorry but a rpg that can be beaten in 2 days is not a fun game. there is no content and the only people who play it are 13 year olds. the only thing to do now is kill others(where 2 classes are overpowered) and PL more people. it is not a good game by any means.
