Military MMO?

With military ranking and a persistent world and one where I can customize my avatar/player? Only ones I can find are like Battlefield 2 etc, they are map based.. Does anyone know of any other ones? The only one that comes to mind is Planetside, but it's player base is so small now..
Anyone have any suggestions?

Ehh.. I played Tabula Rasa.. It got boring after a while.. No real PvP aside from GvG which I never experienced..
I may have to try WWII online.. Anyone play it that can tell me if its any good or not?
You should definitely give WWIIonline a shot, I play it off and on now, but I played for almost 3 years straight. It has a steep learning curve, but if you like the genre, you should enjoy it.
get a 14 day free trial. be prepared to die and not know what killed you for a while.
I just downloaded the 14-Day Trial.. I'll try it when I get home from work.. I read a few reviews and every one gave it a bad review.. I'll go ahead and try it anyways though.. Any other suggestions?

I have ArmA.. It's not really an MMO.. The game is fun though.. And I thought World in Conflict was an RTS game?

Personally, I'd play Planetside again if I didn't disagree with SOE so much.
BTW, I did 6 years in the military and earned an Honorable Discharge. I had enough of the experience. The rest is classified.

I meant ArmA.. It's not an MMO, its a sandbox game, but you connect to a different server each time you play.. Like in BattleField 2.. World in Conflict is a strategy game though.
Any Military MMOs that have big maps that I can customize my player? Seems like all of them have a generic skin for each class.. I like customization..
