Erm...startup...

in Age of Conan: Unchained

So...I open up Age of Conan via the shortcut, the patcher, and the actual icon in program files and the same thing happens...I press play and it just goes to black....is anyone else having this problem and if so how can i fix it?

    or is it just really long load time to go into game?

    I'd say 99% it's your video card. It can't start up the graphics, either because A) you don't have a newer one, B) maybe try updating the drivers. Sometimes if programs have trouble starting up it's RAM, but I think that's less likely...post your system specs, it'll help.

    Can be a really long load the first time. I suggest try a few reboots and then try again.

    Try this it worked for me:

    Go to your Funcom folder and run SimpleConfig

    Select the graphics tab and un-check full screen.

    select ok then try launching again.

    Many people had this problem, including me.

    As Mordia said, you will find the settings in the games folder and also at the bottom right of the patcher window. Change the settings (resolution, window, etc..), save them, and then change them again to set them back as you want and it should fix it.

    Need nething else? Also, would reducing resolution from 1280 to 1024 help?

    the very same thing happened to me on my vista box the first time I tried running the client then I just rebooted and it hasn't happened on that machine since. on my XP pro box it happens every so often and either rebooting or using the disable full screen trick mentioned above gets it starting up, then once it opens change it back to full screen, but sometimes it takes a minute or so to load and all the starting screens (funcom logo, nvidia logo etc.) are black while the music and sound effects play then the log in screen pops up.
