Necromancer creation advice needed

I'm going to start playing this game, and I'm going to start with the Necromancer class. Can anyone give me a hand with character creation? I read some things that say casters need their primary stat as well as dexterity and quickness, does this apply to a Necromancer? Or should I dump everything into intelligence?

    I have a level 50 necro

your should start a necro with 10 points in int 10 in dex and 10 in quickness

Int will give you more power

dex and qui will help you cast faster

And I would sugest going striaght deathsight for skill spec.

So Dex and Quickness help me even though I'm a ghost when casting spells? Is there any reason to have a Breton, or should I look at Inconnu or Saracen for my race? (I have no roleplay issues so I'm looking for best stats)

::Edit:: Oh yeah, if I don't like my spells, can I reassign points somehow?

Yes those stats transfer to your pet also. so your pet will cast faster too.

I played the Inconnu, But that was just because I thought That race look cool image

Im not sure which race has the best starting stats.

At level 20 and 40 you get a chance to respec your skills. You have to go to your trainer and tyoe/respec skill (skillname).
Or you can get a skill respect stone. They are rare and high priced.

Gah, do not do this to me. Do not make me open my DaoC account yet again! My girlfriend will kill me...

Bah, why should some games be so damn addictive

Are those the only three skills that affect my pet? Will higher strength make it hit harder?

Also, can anyone give a brief description of what the three spell specializations are good for, I don't understand the differences at all :P

Thanks for all the info, by the way:)

Follow Kynots advice on where to put your initial 30 points...then just go FULL deathsight all the way! Inconnu will make a good race for your necro. Undead creatures will drop a lot easier than "living" creatures.

Don't make it sound more complicated than it is.....just go deathsight :)

I'm activating the account when I get home from work. I think I'm going with a Saracen since Dex and Quickness does something for the pet. Is there any reason to go with a Breton for pure stat reasons?
