PreOrder Question (Situation)

So I preordered Age of Conan at Gamestop. They said
"How much money would you like to put down?"
I said,
"10$"
"Ok" they said
Then I left is that what was supposed to go down? Do I show up 3 days before release and ask for the game? I have a feeling they were supposed to give me a code or a box or something.
Did I do something wrong or is this normal?

Pretty much normal for gamestop....I`ve preordered back in january and still have nothing to show..but yet they say online that the mounts,travelers bag,ect. are subject to availabilty while supplies last.All I know is I will be one Pissed off dude if I wait all this time and dont get the Mount(Mammoth),and everything else they promised at preorder....has anyone else gotten anything from gamestop or anywhere else fro that matter?Please enlighten us..thanks and goood luck
They should have asked for an email and have given you a receipt. Email to give you the pre-order items and receipt so you can obtain the actual game on May 17th (3-day headstart for pre-orders)

but hey GS/EB have proven through this (the aoc pre order sales period) that they pretty much suck for pre ordering anything...and i will not go through them ever again - thats just me tho

Are you sure you talked to a store employee? Maybe you just donated $10 to someone wearing similiar clothes. . .
Anyways, they should have given you something to show you made a deposit on the preorder or asked you for your email/phone number etc..
I had same problem with gamestop, I kept calling and all they could say was "I dont know call back,so I went and got my money back and went to Best Buy. You can get the regular pre-order box from them or order the collectors off the website. Only thing is they are having some issues emailing the keys if you order off website but advise me that you are suppose to recieve them and are researching why I havent gotten my yet. Which is still alot further then what I got with gamestop.
I preordered from Gamestop, payed for the normal version in full, and they gave me a rave card with the code for the War Mammath on it. You should still be able to get the card if you only put down the minimum $5.00. I actually ended up going back and getting my money back so that I could go somewhere else, since I wanted the Collector's Edition. I left $5.00 mostly so I wouldn't feel bad about keeping the mammoth.
Well they have my information in the system thats why I was reluctant to pull my money away. And I also heard that the mammoth comes with any gamestop age of conan preorderd or not.
Was this a good move on my part still?
And
Is this true?
I preordered two months ago and was able to get the card with the code for all the bonuses today. I wasn't contacted about it though, I just heard that others were able to get them recently and I went to check myself. I'd go back and ask for it specifically.
So what should I do then?
Should I go back and refund my preorder money and then go to bestbuy to buy the preorder?
Can you even do that?
I mean I used my Gamestop Card to purchase the preorder so will they let me refund my money?
Do you think they will pull through I mean dont they by law or something have to live up to the preorder expectations?

Than you end up havening to shell out another $5 for early head start.
This is bullshit, to charge $5 for early access, I could give a shit less about mounts that 3 days headstart is all that most care about anyway.
Rule one, if gamestop doesn't have rave cards, don't preorder from them.
Gamestop employees don't regularly read the information about preorders, they're suppose to, but they don't. So there's a good chance when you go in and ask them about a preorder all they know is that they're suppose to enter your information in the computer and take your money. If they don't give you a rave card, ask for one, you may have to refer to it as a preorder card even though "rave card" is what gamestop refers to them as. There is a good chance when you ask for one it'll be the first time the employee hears about it.
Rule two, any time in life you aren't satisfied with a product you recieve or don't get what you payed for; get your money back.
I pre-ordered online and got the email with my codes back on April 24th.
There were a lot of boxes at Bestbuy here and each pre-order box has a code in it. I didn't notice did you ask someone at the store about this? Or call them...
As to the person I quoted...
Why do people that say this always leave out the part where you get an additional 10 days of game time for that $5..
15 bux for a month which is usually defined as 30 days.
30 / 3 = 10
15 / 3 =5
You are in fact paying for the 10 days of game time. Are you happy now?
Perhaps so you could be upset they could remove your extra 10 days so you would be paying for the 3 day head start. They might have that option if you want to check into it..
Ok first off.
The Rave card they gave you is for nothing more then to FLAG you for 3 day headstart and where you got the game from, each store, Gamestop/EB and Bestbuy have different set of codes they give out, each flagged for different mounts/Bow. If you use a Gamestop card then go and get your money back and pre-order at Bestbuy and get a new card you have to make a new account for that card. Why because if you dont you will get the War Mammoth not the Rhino, and Vice Versa.
As to getting the cards i pre-ordered in March and i called the first week of may and they got the cards in i came down with my slip and got my card. if you ordered in store they have the cards by now unless they ran out in which case, cancel your order and go to another store.
I hope i helped somone since it took me alot of calling around to different stores and Funcom to get the understanding
Side note- No you do not get your full game box early you pick it up on the 20th like everyone else unless theres a midnight sale going on, you have to download the client unless they update the Beta servers to full client. On the 14th of may you will be able to Download the client if you dont have beta or they dont update them to full client. FYI you need that Rave card to flag your account to download the client as well
I did the EB/GS pre-order and recieved my scratch card over a week ago.
If your store doesn't have it now I can't say I hold to much hope of them getting anymore. Call/visit instore and ask about it, ASAP.
EDIT- As far as I know, the mount rave cards are only for pre-orders.

walked into my gamestop, asked if they had anymore AoC pre-order kits/cards for the war mammoth( they did), put down the min $5 for the pre-order, then walked out with my pre-order bonus card and recipe. if i like it ill go back in an get my pre-order if i dont., i don't.
if you didnt get the pre-order kit from the store or an email from online purchase with the pre-order code, you got screwed.
