Is it Vista ?

This question simply has to be asked now.

Is it windows vista 32 bit that is causing all the performance issues?

There are ppl here playing same PC with XP and Vista and they say there is notable performance diffrence.

Funcom ?   Microsoft ?

Or should all using Vista 32 bit just skip this one ?

There is a big mix of ppl saying there XP works great and others saying there Vista 32 works great,it is a code problem and I guess we have to wait till release before we know for sure.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

I have Vista 32bit and for the most part my performance is pretty bad. Tortage-Night was at least playable, but as soon as I changed to day I just quit out of frustration.

Vista's a bigger resource hog. It requires more memoriy typicall than XP.

Vista=DX10=more processing and GPU power needed to make all the pretties happen. XP=DX9=less intense graphics for less resource munching.

    So yes, it's perfectly reasonable.

Never tried the game under vista 32.  When I first was in the beta had 2gigs of ram and xp 32.  Performance left much to be desired.  Tortage Night was fine but daytime was a nightmare.  This was several months ago.  Then I upgraded to 4 gigs of ram and Vista 64.  I have occasionally switched back and forth between the two as beta has progressed and while I spend less time at the max fps (under vista 64) I spend far less time at slideshow rates.  Basically vista 64 may have knocked peak performance down a tad the overall experience has been far more stable under Vista than under XP.

Even then its going to have mixed results and here is why.  You can put two users with the exact same hardware and have 2 very different results all due to operator's ability and knowledge or lack thereof :)

Vista 64 runs just as good for me as XP 32bit.

I can't tell the difference in performance.

Performance overall is pretty good for me even with debugger on.
