Why most mmo have little Music?

Why most mmo have less Music?

why most mmo either have no music or little music? it is boring while hunting and leveling quietly. Ofcourse we can play our own music but.... it just that why cant mmos have lots of music and their own unique music? it adds the lifeness to the atmosphere and immersiveness.

Mabinogi got nice amount of music. Hear music oftenly.

Nearly every MMOG I have played has had plenty of music. I really don't know what you're talking about.

...what about while fighting in combat?

and not just mmos, first person shooter too.

MMOs, the music gets extremely old. The FIRST thing I do in an MMO is turn OFF the music.

I do like things like EVE Radio however, that's a very nice thing they have going and they are interactive as well.

FPSs don't have music because hearing is very much apart of the game. How are you going to hear those footsteps if you have SLAYER - BLOODRAIN playing in the background?

I think that Music is the lowest priority for the MMO, with good reason. Personal taste in music is VERY diverse, even among very similar player populations. Music is also repeptative and its the first thing to drop if you want to improve your system performance.

Most current MMOs have a nice selection of music.

There was a mod in WOW that played any MP3.  I had loads of different battle music selections, special ones for PvP, bosses, easy mobs, tough mobs, death,  ect.  GREAT mod.  Enhanced the game a lot.

Background music is one of those settings that I turn off from the start of configuring my controls/settings.

I know that in SWG at first a lot of players were asking this question...why not more music?  It seemed the only timeyou got music was when you were fighting.  Of course, there was music that was triggered by world events, such as sunrise, sunset, or a change in weather.  Also music triggered by moving into certain areas...a soft playing of the "Emperor's Theme/Imperial March" combo when you wandered near to the Emperor's Retreat on Naboo, for example.

WoW has music allmost everywhere...I particularly like the music that plays when you're in Ashenvale.  Seems to be suitably sylvanish and appropriate.

I suspect that because most single player games have music playing as a matter of course there's an expectation by many players that there will always be music in the background in an MMO.  The silence stands out then.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.
