I'd be happy with any MMO worth a damn.

Although I would like to try EVE.

There is a rumor BioWare is doing a KoTOR MMO. But, it still up in the air. I had a friend in the application process at BioWare Austin and they said they were working with Lucas Arts. The problem is that doesnt mean star wars. The could just be borrowing the euphoria/havok/soft particle physics engine LEC is using for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. After doing some research on the engine BioWare is using for the world creation of their MMO ( www.heroengine.com ) I also do not believe it is a Star Wars IP. Looks more like a fantasy type engine to me.

not likely. everyone is all a-twitter over bioware making a star wars mmo but they forget one important rule.

you are only as strong as your weakest link.  the wisdom of the bioware devs is counteracted by the black hole of incompetence that is  lucas arts. they have made 3 good games back to back (arguably) with swg,

battlefronts 1 and 2. now they are due to pass another stinker.

To be absolutely honest though I believe it's inevitable for there to be another SW MMO. Whether it will be good or not depends on what those developers have learned from this fiasco.

With any luck they'll learn the most important lesson that a sense of community is everything - at least IMO it is.

Every MMORPG game on the market has there upsides and downsides.

Really it comes down to finding a game "YOU" enjoy. I mean look at what I play and what I want to play, some of the worst (in the eyes of some) MMO's around.

SWG still holds me as well I feel it's not a bad game, not the greatest or great game however it still holds me with some cool things that I enjoy. Space being the top of that list, sorry I'm not looking for an EVE type space game. I'm looking for something with Dog Fighting, SWG gives me that. And still reminds me of staying up late playing X-Wing/TIE Fighter back in the mid 90's.

Hellgate:London is another one, granted it's Diablo only with Assault Rifles, Powered Armor and some other things. However it's a fun game to me anyway, if I want to be Solo and run around just gunning down anything in my path it's there. If I want to go do group things Hellgate does have that in it as well.

And then we have Age of Conan, a game that I have tried out and I think will be fun. I have already gotten my Pre-Order in and I feel it will be an enjoyable game.

See that's one thing gaming is about, finding something you the player enjoy and playing it. Also just to tell you this much, you will never find a game you will enjoy 100% of the time. Even with those 3 games I've listed and others I play like CoD4 and GTA4, I have moments where I just find myself not enjoying anything in the game.

Believe me find games you can enjoy, you'll be much more happy.

As for another Star Wars MMO, who knows... I'd put more money on Knight of the Old Republic 3.

Naw, the BW/LEC project is a KOTOR game for handhelds PSP/DS.

Sorry it's not the game you all are looking for. As for their MMO I just keep visualizing this amateur piece of shit, based on what they’ve said so far. It's not gonna break any records, top any charts or anything. Much like their last 2 games. It's not gonna be uber shit to anyone once they learn it runs like a single player RPG.

The last 2 games, as good as fanbois think they were, they didn't get the huge praise and they were just over hyped by the fans themselves. The rest of us were left looking at them going "eh?" They haven't had a real hit in years and I don't expect much to change. BioWare aint hittin shit.

It would be great if someone (who knows what they're doing) made a new SW:MMO, but I think the likely hood of that happening is slim to none.

Only because SW like many other "popular" franchises is to well known to most people, so most developers are afraid to touch on BIG names like SW or ST.

But I am hoping for the best with SG: Worlds.

One game I would like to see online is White Wolfs Vampire, which with the partnership of CCP I hope to see one day.

Kinda funny how everyone thinks Havok and Euphoria are all Lucas Arts work, they're not. LA have licensed them for TFU, FYI Havok is also in GTA IV ;)

Without a doubt there will be a new SW MMO. GL likes his money. Today it was announced that sub based games rake in over a billion dollars annually. You have to remember that the NGE was created out of pure greed. The kind that surpasses all logic. That same greed insures us that there will be another SW MMO dropped on us sooner or later.

As for it's quality, it depends on who is developing it and how much power LEC gives them (and how much power they withhold from their marketing people).

That being said, I'm sure the general SW gamer will forevermore approach any MMO with fear and trepidation.

I completely agree as this was exactly what I was thinking too.

And the reason I think there may already be something in the works (possibly a BW project - or something else thats been in secret development) is that it would be an awful waste of an opportunity to not have something released to coincide with the new SW T.V. show.

Who knows, maybe the whole Agency thing is a red herring and in fact it'll be a SW micro-transaction based game :P

You can't trust anything the viral-marketers like Suvroc, I am now pretty sure he is a paid shill for Bioware. He and others like him claim all this inside knowlege about sub numbers and what games are being developed with which IP.

    lol that's awsome.

Apparently you think I'm good enough to be a paid shill - so if anyone out there wants to hire me I'll consider it.  :)

I've never claimed any inside knowledge Gutboy. I'm just speculating as much as anyone else, so I suppose if I am right then I'll have even more explaining to do?  :)

Suvroc can you put a word in for me? The Cabal doesn't pay anything (more like charity work), I'd certainly rather work for BioWare and make the big bucks.

I'd put more money on a KOTOR 3 for next gen consoles before another SW MMO.  However, I hope like hell it happens!  I think with all the lessons learned from SWG it would be a great  MMO.  I'm willing to try anything with the SW name tacked on to it.
