Earthrise: Two Music Tracks

StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

Sounds are generally used in games to set some kind of mood while the player is moving through the world. While we still don't have much information on the game, the folks from Earthrise have provided us with these two tracks from their upcoming MMORPG.

Vision of a Dream

Sal Vitas and its advanced towns are the cornerstone of human culture and art. Unlike 20th century cities built to fit the landscape, Sal Vitas has terraformed the land to fit the imagination of the glorious architects. Every element is designed and built carefully, down to the most minute detail, in an effort to complete a solid image. Sal Vitas is not only a city, but a testament to vision and determination.

You can download the song from the feature.

Check out these two tracks here.

Cheers,

I did not like the first song but I am sure I will like it once there is a visual to the song.   I really liked the second song.  If more are like that or better this might just be the first game that I actually leave the music on.  Hope we hear more song samples soon.

If they're going for futuristic ambience, it's no Brian Eno or Jon Hallur, but we'll see. Hear. Yeah.

Maybe I should have been more clear that those were concept art images?

I was comfortable with both but I have to go with the second as my favorite.

Still, I did get the feeling of an EVE soundtrack from them.  But, I'm certain that once I'm in the game, with it's different play-style, that I'll feel that it fits this game well enough.

John Hallur is fantastic. His EVE tracks are always my favorites when playing. Red Glowing Dust is an amazing song. It's the only video game track in my 1000 song ipod collection. Check it out:

These 2 Earthrise tracks were passable.

The second track reminds me of Slave Zero (anyone?).

Tough the tracks sound too tribal for a game set in a post apocaliptic world.

These are a couple of good tracks.  I was expecting something noisy for the second, but I like it.  These could both go into my selection of "chill out" tracks.

What kind of music does this fall into?  Can anybody point me to some other artists that make this, more of this kind of stuff, or perhaps to some web radio station that has a lot of this?
