The fact that beta now only happens to cover the South Korean regions does in no way mean that we have any less desire to let other territories partake in testing the game. More rather, we would want nothing more. But reality remains - there are obstacles there that prevent us from doing so at this instant. I'm of course talking about localization, both client-wise and communication-wise. The client is not yet fully translated, and while it's progressing with a good pace - we don't want to expose the game to players in a language they probably don't understand. It just takes away too much from the MMO experience. To come to terms with this, the initial testing phases are in the development language, allowing the developers to put more time and effort in to actually making the game ... dare I say 'awesome'?

Open beta in Korea is expected for September/October, there won't be any more closed betas there, our closed betas for Europe and US should be announced soon, hopefuly in Leipzig/PAX, the release date for this game in EU/US is stablished sometime during the first quarter of 2009.
World wide releases simultaneously in different languages in different locales are extremely rare if not impossible to make happen. They are actually doing quite well. If the game launches in Korea in early 2009 or *gasp* before and we get ours 6 months later, or around there. That's pretty good.

I believe the beta application is only available in Korea. So far there hasn't been any announcement for the NA beta signups that I know of.

They should be announcing Korean OBT date on August 13th.
Current: [none]
Waiting for: TERA
I think its weird they have problems with "localisation" while they already have several NC games located and servers set up in europe already.
