No, the open beta ended today ( sunday )
BTW, where are you downloading from ?
did you get a email from Funcrom.
Open beta ended earlier today.
Open Beta is over. Only client for live available ...for some...to download.
Question.
If you pre-order AoC online through Gamestop aren't they suppose to send you a key to be able to start play on the 17th?
Yes, there is a grace period, and I believe its either 7 or 10 days.
Yes.. They did say that it may take up to 72 hours for you to recieve the email with the activation information.

Ok awesome.
yeah i got my key 2 days ago (9th) from a local reseller in the netherlands, and registered my account.
today just 1 hour ago i got the email from funcom that the download was ready and that i was able to patch on the 14th and play on the 17th.
Welcome to the Age of Conan Early Access Program!
You've chosen to be among the select few who can venture into Hyboria to carve out your destiny and establish your name before the masses arrive.
To start your journey you will first have to download and install the client available at https://register.ageofconan.com/ with your account xxxxxx
Once installed the client can be patched to the latest version from May 14th, so that you're fully prepared to start your journey.
The gates to Hyboria will open on May 17th.
Welcome to Hyboria!
Regards,
Funcom
Hey, I did the 5 dollar thing at gamestop and they gave me a key...so what's the diff between that early access key, and buying the game...cuz i already have the client...
Once you log in where do you find the download? Ive logged in but cant see how to download it.
I think we have to wait for the email till we can download.
if u pre-order from gamestop u get in the stor like i did
its right on top of all the selections, so its not an additional sections of the account management but a small piece of text with a textlink
Which client version? The early access is the retail version and the open beta client is not compatible. You pay 5 euro or $5 to download the retail client which gives you 10 days extra play time.
I have the closed beta client...but what I'm saying is that if you can download the retail client w/ 5 dollars...then what do you get from buying the game?
So should I go ahead and uninstall the beta? I was hoping it would simply update to the live version, but if I need to download the full client again I might as well clear some space.
A key that can last forever as long as u pay your subscription.
If you don't buy the game then you can't download the retail client or set up an account.
In order to play Age of Conan you must purchase the full retail game for £25 or $50 ( guessing US price ). The full retail version will have a game licence key which will allow you to play Age of Conan,
IF you pre-order the game, you will get a temporary pre-order CD key which will let you register an account and allow you to download the client and play ahead of the actual launch date. When you receive your retail box you will have to register the CD key inside to continue playing.
You can not simply download the client for €/£/$ 5 , because you only get that option if you pre-order a full version.
the release client is different than any other client released (even closed beta I'm led to believe, wouldn't know as I'm not in it).

Ok, let me clear this upIf you pre-order at a gamestop store, you can pay anything from $5 up to the full price of the game. I imagine that this is the $5 that he already paid.
In order to get into the 'early access' playtime, yuo have to pay an additional $5 to funcom through you funcom account. The reason that you have to actually pay for the full game after this is that you can only play for 10 days without putting in a 'real' cd-key from the full game.
I put in my key, signed up for early access, etc. I am seeing that people are DL the client. I cannot for the life of me figure out where to do that. Any one?

i sense gamespot is getting mugged today.
ive been contemplating something. I played the OB and enjoyed it enough to throw some money down on it. I want to pre-order and receive early access. I also want the box. does gamestop ship the box to me while i download the client within 72hours of purchase for definite play on the 17th?
chips, dips chains & whips.
Once they activate your account for early access the download link will be the first thing you see when you log in to the registration page. Not sure if there is an order or if they are activating beta players first or what... I know I am downloading it now and my friend who actually activated his account a few hours before I did doesnt have the link to download the game yet. I was in closed beta, he wasnt... maybe a coincidence, maybe not.
