I know conqueror is absolutely awful at pvp from my experience. I got one to 20 and I got dominated. It seems to me to be completly overpowered for certain classes like all of rogue.
The open beta was limited to lvl 13, at which point the classes had similiar abilities so it's really hard to tell. At lvl 20, the classes start to feel a little more unique, but really it's still too early to tell how well they are going to be balanced. And if funcom got class balance right at the early levels, it'd probably be screwed at the higher levels.
As for the conqueror sucking, until the soldiers get their plate they are probably going to be fairly weak.
just like in every other game that just started there are imbalances. We shouldn't look at those at the moment but instead look at what they will do about it.
What people need to understand about classes is that they will ALWAYS be designed around a rock, paper, scissors philosophy. Otherwise there would be no classes. Everyone would have exactly the same abilities across the board...gee what fun that would be...NOT. Classes also help to build communities and grouping as one may be squishy but can heal, so hey if I group with that tank we will be a great combo. But Knowing how peeps just love to complain I would bet if even exactly the same some will scream QQ my lag is more then yours or my mouse is wireless and does not respond as fast. From my first hand experience of the OB there will be some skill involved in the PVP as just button mashing is sure death. Combos are the key. Learn them well and heads will roll. I played a medium armored class in OB and still killed many who got the jump on me when I was low on health or fighting someone else at the same time. So how did I do it? I used strategy and potions and combos and whittled down my foe's. And as soon as I killed them they QQ in chat that I need a Nerf or I'm exploiting something.....Sigh. I know the truth can hurt but maybe I'm just a better player. I will be the first to say that I also got killed a heck of a lot. As a new game with heavy PVP there will of course be balancing ongoing but to many jump at QQ nerf needed way to often. Go to WOW and search the forum posts for ANY class and I guarantee that sooner or later you will find someone screaming nerf for all the classes. Why? Again people its rock, paper, scissors and I don't see that game mechanic changing any time soon. Peace

That game mechanic doesn't exist in every game. Any game that uses a skill based system in fact will not be class based and thus won't have that problem of constant rebalancing. Take for example UO. Although some skills were considered over powered, skills in general rarely received changed because everyone had the opportunity to use them.

I mean no offense but I was referring to more along the line of MMO's from this decade.
Balancing is for newbies that can't figure out how to play their class. If some class owns your ass, either deal with it, learn how to beat it, or re-roll.
That is all.

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Spend some points in preception and rouge's are not a problem.
MAGA
Of course balanced or not every one will cry until Funcom nerfs every one down to their underwear.
Whaaaaah that class can hurt me,,,,,whaaahhhh, nerf that class, it shouldn't be able to hurt me.
I can hear the Whaaaaambulance coming already.

That's the exact opposite of what I found with my Conqueror.
