Coming back to CoH?

Hey everyone.
I bought CoH the weekend it came out. After my friends on Infinity disappeared, combined with being bored with how slow I was leveling ( way too much XP debt ), I cancelled my subscription after two weeks.
Now I am thinking of coming back to CoH, since I'm looking for a simple, laid-back game that I can play for a short time every day. I'd like to know, though, does CoH support surround/positional audio/EAX? Also, I'm looking for a cool server and some fun people to play with, maybe a supergroup, but I don't know where to look.
I think that maybe if I did more roleplaying, actually read the mission descriptions, got surround sound to work and found some friends, the game could be more immersive and I could have a lot of fun with it. Any help is appreciated.

I play on Triumph. I might recommend another server though. The 'community' feel of Triumph is a little lacking, but overall I find the friendliness and competance level of the players acceptable. I can always find groups, but havn't found a real close knit supergroup, I tend to play with LOTS of different people every time.
I'm definately a casual player, maybe 2-3 hours, 3 times a week and if I'm lucky a full day on the weekend.
