Corpse of Icir (Bloodfin Server)

iciricir Member Posts: 2

Hey guys,

I am the player who used the character "Icir" in Star Wars Galaxies. After discussing star wars galaxies with some friends of mine today, I went on google to see whatever had become of star wars galaxies. Apparently people still play it. I got curious and I typed my name into Google to see if any of my posts from the Star Wars Galaxies forums still had been online. After looking through some google pages, it has come to my attention that my corpse became infamous on Bloodfin server, at the Talus Airport. or something like that.  I found these forums and registered to try to contact a few members here to talk about it.

After some research, I found out that the legend of my corpse on the Bloodfin server actually made it into the Guinness book of World Records for Video Games. I went to Borders today to confirm if it were true or not, and to my suprise, it really was in there.

I Don't know for sure why or how my corpse still managed to stay on Talus after the removal of player corpses, or after all the patch changes and rollbacks and etc.

Basically Talus was my home planet, because it was very lightly populated and I would just go into the wilderness to craft and fight the easier cousin of the jax (can't remember their name)

I played on Star Wars Galaxies for around a year to a year and a half. from the very beginning to  right as more people began unlocking the Jedi powers. The character Icir did not last as long. I probably used Icir as a character for one to two weeks, maybe not even that. I think I got pissed one night at the game, deleted Icir, and somehow his corpse remained. I began using a new character, Ipir for the rest of my duration as Star Wars Galaxies.

I quit due to the injustices that were the Borgle Bat Caves on Rori and the loot spawn. It was completely worthless to go into ANY cave other than that one, because any of the more difficult caves gave crap loot, while the easiest of all the caves gave the best loot. Not to mention it was just filled with people AFK macro looting it.

Anyways, It was wonderful to see that I wasn't the only one who thought SWG was an amazing game, but frought with horrible bugs. If you guys would like to chat, I have sent a couple of yous private messages, but I would love to chat with anyone else about star wars galaxies and what happened to it after I left. I will be checking this thread, and my private messages, so feel free to send me one, other than that:

good on you for making the guiness book of world records in one of the most pointless categories (sorry but its true).  i too like the less populated planets and i was frequently on my farm on Talus.  gotta love the old times

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Yeah there was like one item on it. The corpse has been removed since the NGE sadly. But I don't think any real vet of Bloodfin will ever forget  "The corpse of Icir"  / "a player corpse"

I quit into the NGE. I am a Bloodfin vet, and the corpse was one of the symbols of our server. Its great to hear some of the story behind it.

I applaud your survial skills in the NGE. but if its a matter of Spawns and loots that made you quit  why didn't you quit earlier when major FUBAR was committed to the game .  Congratz for wising up ,better late then never.

I liked some of the changes, but I hated others. I originally had started out as a bounty hunter, and I was one of those people who kept Eye Shot on their hot keys. After that was nerfed, I dabbled in various PvP-oriented professions, until eventually settling with the combat medic /Doctor line. I  LOVED crafting stuff and helping people with their wounds, but when resource hunting was such a chore when I found out the best crafters were just spending their days down in the Borgle Bat Caves, I became enraged and upset. I couldn't take it anymore because none of the developers cared. I remember one of my first ventures into the Borgle Bat Caves, I looted a +6 weaponsmithing ability or something, I sold it to my buddy for like 3 million credits and suddenly the whole system of earning credits just was worthless (although it didn't have much merit anyways with the glitches on Endor and Dantoonie with missions)

The imbalance was so much fun though.
