Future Star Wars mmorpg.."Clone Wars" or "KOTOR 3 Online"?

Lets assume Lucas is working on a new SW MMO....
*What do you think it will be? KOTOR or CW?
*Will it have Depth and complexity or will it be WOWish?
*When could we see such a game?
*Will SOE even be involved?

With Clone Wars I can almost see a WARHAMMER ONLINE style of play. You know a very PVP centric game. I do hate the lack of depth and complexity WAR brings to the table. However, at this point I just want a new STARWARS game.
1..I really am hoping for KoTOR, but I have a feeling it's going to be CW; even though I don't want CWs I will play it.
2..I don't think it will be sandbox, which sucks, but if they go a similar route like KoTOR 1 and 2 I will be ok with that.
3..I am hoping it will be release by Christmas at least, if not then very early 2009.
4..For the sake of LA and Bioware, they better not be. If they were dumb enough to involve $OE (Screw Over Everyone) then they game would be vaporware from day 1.

Agree and that's sad to say really my hunger for almost anything beyond the NGE, might send the wrong signal to potential DEVs.*Yes I do want quality and qaunity.

I guess we must wait and see, but I really with someone would say something to the effect "We are making a STARWARS mmorpg and it will be out sometime in the next 3 to 5 years". Anything to give hope you know.
I think all the signs (the few that have been out there) point to Bioware working on a Clone Wars type MMO. The reason i say this is because:
1- there have been some postings of some materials that someone retrieved from the Bioware dumpster in Austin
2- Clone Wars is due out in theaters in August 2008. Seems like whatever they have been working on in Austin for 2 years now definitely has their heads down, working towards a goal
3- if it were KOTOR, there is really no reason that they wouldnt take advantage of their enormous previous success with this intellectual property and plug the heck out of it, building up the hype
4- LucasArts is leasing StreamBase complex event processing for whatever they are cooking with BioWare. LA Is notorious for all the movie tie-ins to products, video games, etc and the two big things on the horizon at the end of this year are 1- Indy 4 and 2- Clone Wars in theaters.
my money is on Clone Wars MMO. if it's not announced within the next 60-90 days, it's gotta be something else, as the theatrical release is just around the corner.

Actually, the devs announce at the most recent E3 that the game was in playable form already, but still in Alpha stage.

Good call, it would make sense because LA likes to tie its movies in with products likes toys and games. The last three episodes had a major game release around the same time. That being said and with what you just said above, I will agree and assume it will be CW if its announce within the next 90 days.
I still would think a KoTOR MMO would be a lot better story-wise, because it's unwritten pretty much and BioWare has an awesome story writing staff.

What about beta? If they were going to do a dual release, I think they would have to say something soon.
It's also possible that there will be a reference of some kind in the new CW movie that will tie into the MMO being made by Bioware/Pendamic. When the announcement came a few months after the NGE release the the two studios were teaming up for a MMO I had strong hopes of it being a Star Wars based game due to the fact that both studios have strong SW gaming productions previously.
If I were to say which I'd like to see, well the KOTOR time would be my preference but I see the logic in thinking it could be a CW MMO instead.
Hard to say if it will be truely original or WoWish, it's hard for investors not to notice the monsterous number being posted by Blizzard. But I have hope for originality.
Unknown as to any realistic time table for release, not soon enough if it's good.
I just can't imagine SOE being involved, it would make it very difficult to be interested in after the NGE fiasco.

Don't forget Bioware had monsterous sales with KOTOR. They don't need to copy WOW.
Although I have a feeling they might still make it WOWish, which I will hate. Still I have some faith because of the very experienced dev team they have assembled,
Am I the only one who wants a persistant world sandbox mature complex mmo?
O yea, there's always EVE. Empire wars are coming, as are avatars. I am glad I commited to EVE these past 2 years. They have a very solid dev staff of people truely pasonate about their game, and NOT following a FOTM WOW format.
Nothing against the success of WOW, but I really HATE what it has done to MMOs.

I will play either one, but I really would like to see a KOTOR MMO, and It would make more sense to make it than CW. They would have alot more freedom to create and not be tied down by existing cannon . Also it would make for great immersion into the game, because during that time frame there were alot of Jedi and Sith so pvp would be fun and could include Republic and Sith factions and classes. Just my opinion and hopes.
I would love that!...however, I would like to see a 3rd neutral faction introduced. Maybe a Criminal Underworld Faction or something. A Faction for Bounty Hunters, Informants, Smugglers,and Black Market Merchants could play freely.
2. I don't care either way. I want it to be fun. It needs to be something that anyone can feel comfortable playing. As much as I loved the launch system for SWG for trying to go a different way and giving players a LOT of freedom to develop our characters, killing womp rats to make traps didn't scream "Star Wars" to me. I just want the game to be playable, fun, and heroic feeling from levels 1 to 100 (or whatever).
3, No idea. I would like later this year, but mid-next year would likely come closer to the mark.
4. I should hope not! Why should they? They were given a can't lose setting and lost with it. I doubt SOE ever gets a sniff of a new Luscasfilm contract again.

Neither. It will be a post ep3, pre ep4, "Dawn of Defiance" type game that is modeled after the TV show.
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

Although I would love a KOTOR mmo, as I am a big fan, Lucas Arts has already stated that they have no plans for introducing a KOTOR mmo because the target audience is too small. While I take this, as always, with a grain of salt, it does make perfect sence from a business perspective.
