All I read about now is AoC and how it is the next best thing. I tried to stay off the hype train after V:SoH, I ate everything the devs told me about that game and asked for more. This game does look good and I will try it for sure but I’m going to give it a better part of a year to let the reviews come out. I know a lot of people have reviewed the games but they all seem to say “Best game ever” or ‘Worst game ever” doesn’t seem to be anything genuine yet.
So, Here’s hoping for the best and maybe I’ll see you all soon.

I'm with you. this game has potential written all over it, and I will sure follow it and see where it goes. without solid reviews, I ain't buying it though. patience is my rule of thumb regarding MMOs ;P
all I can do now is hope the launch will be smooth to everyone who pre-ordered, and that they will enjoy the game (:
I'll let you know tomorrow how it runs and if its laggy (which I doubt since FunCom has a nifty way of stopping it)
do they have an in-game hypnotizing feature to make all the fanxxxs ignore all the bugs and lag?
seems like they had it in beta.

I believe that got cut for launch but they are going to patch it in later.
Sorry, not a WAR fan, nor wow no cox, nor vanguard or any other currently on the market.
I've never even mentioned anything about WAR.
Fine, be blind to the obvious issues with this game.
Let it be your holy grail.. well, until you get bored in a couple months.
I guess you have problems? or are you just taking everyones word?
It'll be an awsome game, then when I'm bored, well, that'll be six months from now and Warhammer will be releasing, yay! But, who knows, AoC might have beaten Shadowbane's pvp lag problem; I'm sooo looking forward to the City and Siege fun! I ordered EIGHT T1 servers, 12 megabits, whatever that means; costly but any lag won't be from my connection. I can NOT wait too play AoC!

wth kind of BS are you spewing?
Man.. what I'd give for 8 T1 servers...
DD: I have and will continue to call out troll posts, but like I told you in the chat room I don't like name calling. I, too, would prefer to be objective about it.
I enjoy AoC. You did not. But I won't call you names for not liking it.

Now that's just funny.
People tend to confuse two terms often on this site...
LAG and LATENCY.
Lag, as I like to define it, is CLIENT side peformance issues. This can be a multitude of factors, from your PC not being quite up to spec to your connection speed.
But, if you have a very fast connection and very powerful PC but still experience issues, then what you have are LATENCY issues, which are SERVER side.
During the Fileplanet Open Beta and the Gamespot PvP Weekend Beta, I experienced some of both. I know my PC isn't uber and powerful, but it's not bad at all. Well WELL above the minimum specs. Actually, I think I meet the recommended.
But I had to run the game at LOW settings to get decent framerate and performance because of Server Side Latency issues.
Now I know that this was Beta and that they run all kinds of monitors and they have these testing phases to do load and stress testing etc. so I wasn't expecting things to be perfectly smooth.
But we'll see how things are at launch. I expect many to find problems with both latency (server side) and lag (client side) that will negatively impact playablity.
However I also want to pose this question....
For the closed beta, you had to submit your DXDiag files correct? Is it THAT hard to believe that Funcom only chose people for Closed Beta that had PC's capable of running the client well? To eliminate any chance of lag occuring? With every closed beta tester or friend of a tester etc. etc. saying the game is SOO much better in closed beta then it was in the open beta, is it that hard to believe that these people simply have better computers?
That it is NOT some uber new build that is X months newer and it's on a more stable server etc etc and whatever other excuses the "fanbois" are using to combat ANY negative feedback about this game? That it really is just that the closed beta testers were chosen because they had very good/compatable PCs?
Makes 100% perfect sense to me.
Man I ordered 8 OC95 32 bit thingies with dongles and something that beeps that improves my FPS.. I am so psyched out it's unbelievable. I gotta go,t hey're gonna put me in that white coat again.. I love that white coat...
