Early Access pushed back 3 hours to 8PM GMT ?!?!

Frustrated with not being able to connect to the authentication server, I restarted my AoC client and noticed that the news post was different and spoke about tweaking the servers for the next 3 hours. I tried to confirm this on the FC forums but they are down right now.

Yes this is confirmed. Its posted in the patcher and they are also saying the same thing over on the IGN forums.
Well can't say I didnt see this coming. After all this is the same company that put out Anarchy Offline. Just pray the launch doesn't turn out to be the mess that game was in the beginning.

In the US, when we say EST, it includes any DST changes. So it is 4 PM EST, even thought we're in dst. 1 PM PST.
I feel silly now because there are like 5 other people who posted "WTF 3 more hours" type threads at the same exact time as me. mmorpg.com is being lagtastic right now, making it hard to browse these forums!
Oh well, it looks like I am going to go enjoy 2.5 more hours of RL before I crack out on this shit. I am mostly concerned about getting on ASAP so I can get my characters created so nobody steals my names!

But if one wants to ignore the time changes one can simply use ET, CT or PT rather than specify whether or not they are on standard or daylight savings time by using the D or S.
Using EST pr PST during daylight savings time is simply wrong and can cause confusion as its one hour off o the correct time of EDT or PDT. * months of the tear EDT and PDT is the coorect terminolgy to use/ Although using ET or PT might be easier for you.

Yes when writing something official or technical they would use EDT. But in common speak, we don't use EDT, we use EST. Obviously it's wrong, but that's the way it is.Regardless, it's scheduled to open at 4 PM on the east coast.

But also, it's common practice to do so several days before any game launch, not 30 minutes. You know, so that if people are having technical problems they can actually let the company know and try to get help? Yeah, it makes sooo much sense to have them bring them down only 30 minutes before launch to clear them of beta information..keep telling yourself that big guy!

I seem to remember not more than a few days ago everyone that had EA defending Funcom so avidly. Now you guys are questioning their actions because it doesnt suit your needs.Also the official game launch is 5/20, not 5/17 . In case you forgot the EA is intended to be a sneak peak and there are still alot of bugs to work out before the Official launch date.
Have fun ironing out those bugs for all the real paying customers.

Adding 3 hours to GMT is the same difference as adding 3 hours to EST. The only difference is what the time is now in the respective zones.

big deal, every mmo has downtime or slight delays on release, hell even mmos that have been out for years have extended downtime periodically--like take WOW for instance (been out 3 1/2 yrs i believe--and one that a lot of people say is the most polished, lol) often when they do their maintenance quite a few servers (if not all) will be down for several hours longer than expected and when they do content patches there's often delays.
I bet I am not the only one stuck at the "Downloading patch information" screen right now. Has anyone been able to get in yet? I guess I wouldn't expect anyone to say yes to that question because if anyone was able to get in, they would be playing and not on the mmorpg.com forums...
