in Age of Conan: Unchained

I log in and make it to the character select screen, select Cimmeria and click "create" and then it goes to loading screen and loads about halfway and freezes!



I started thinking about this and I remember when I was installing an error came up and said something to the effect of 05.rdbdata was an incorrect filesize. Stupidly, I just ignored it and kept installing, and everything was working okay until today. I'm thinking this is the reason why I can't load the game. I looked up C:Program FilesFuncomAge of ConanRDB5.rdbdata and it was only 518 MB instead of 1GB like the others.



Of course I deleted my install files because I'm running low on disk space on my laptop. Is there any way to download this file again, or do I have do download the WHOLE stupid torrent at low speeds?!



Is there anyway someone could upload the file or something and I could replace mine?

    I crash at the same point, but never had the file problems you describe.  I did a fresh install last night from the DVDs, and the game patched again with no error messages this afternoon.

    If I had the CD's I would just do a clean install but I ordered online so they wont be here til monday or tuesday... which would defeat the purpose of my EA purchase....

    I just checked.

    05.rdbdata is indeed 1 GB.

    sorry about your luck, but you will most likely have to

     

    1. try to redownload the installer

    2. wait until the dvd's get there

    3. try deleting the said "bad file" and do a scan on the patcher and see if it will repatch it.

    that is about all i can think of.

    edit: if you try number three and it wont work, dont blame me. it has worked in other games for me, but i cant say anything for this one.

    Ok  that may have worked, I deleted the file and loaded the patcher.. it started downloading a large file like 700 something MB.  Thanks for the suggestion hope it works!
