Mmm, DX10.

Game looks so much more correct as far as lighting and shadows go with DirectX 10 enabled. Not a whole lot of difference in areas that are open and bright in the first place, such as outside the walls of Tortage, but in the jungle preceding it; big difference.

The difference isn't as drastic as LOTRO's DX9 and DX10 differences though I don't think, but I credit that to Age of Conan in DX9 lookin' pretty good anyway.

So uh, not to spark any XP vs. Vista arguments, but anyone on the fence about whether or not Vista and DX10 are worth it and you have a DX10 capable card...it's worth it if you ask me.

NO ONE ASKED ME? FINE.

Have you noticed any hits in fps with DX10 enabled?

They just added the option to turn on DX10 in beta like less then a week ago, but after a disscussion on the beta forums pretty sure dx10 is not actually working though and wont be until release day.

Dx10 is not enabled yet. The option is in the settings, but it does nothing:

Oh sh*t the game looks awesome and run nicely. Too bad they took the server down for some fix. Can't wait to get back. It's going to be looooong day. And night. And day again.

I've enabled DX10 but maybe it's not active but I've noticed the images are alot more realistic in the jungle/forested area than in open beta with DX9.

If it isn't active, it should look even schweeter when it is active.

Don't forget Dx10's ability to render more things on screen faster which come in handy in crowded area's or sieges if you're in to that.

For all those that think DX10 is ingame.  Open otptions and switch to directX10.  Then go down to shaders and note that you have the options of 2.0 - 2.x and 3.0.  NOw.... Direct X 10 supports and runs on shader 4.  So no - its not implemented in the game.

There is no DX10 support at this point.  The game has now launched without DX10.  What did the Devs say about that one?   Or are we talking about the retail launch now (to the fanboys) ?  Or maybe even the next expansion?

Many of the features that Funcom promised are not ingame or not working at launch.  So get over it - deside if you will play it anyway but dont allow Funcom to forget they did not deliver what they promised.
