Do you believe that Blizzard's track record is enough?????

JohnnyVJohnnyV Member Posts: 124

By this question i mean does everyone think that Blizzard's track record is enough to have faith that they will have quality hit on their hands with WoW.... They are able to keep people interested in StarCraft even YEARS after its release....so is this dedication enough to have faith that they will have the same dedication to WoW....I mean id like to think it is.

We have come to respect blizzard for their quality games and cs(I've been having problems recently with Warcraft III, they're nice)  This is of course a new game, but it's track record is a good one, I think they have a good enough record for me to follow their game, and continue to play Starcraft and Warcraft to this very day, yes, I believe it's track record is enough for me to beleive they'll make a quality game, but the only way we can find out is by waiting till it goes retail and try it.

I agree. I think Blizzard knows how to make PC games almost flawlessly. They already made the 2 most popular/highest rated RTSs of all time and they made the most popular/successful Action RPG of all time.

Will WoW be added to that list for holding records and breaking barriers? You can bet your butt it will... image

Blizzard has been in the computer game industry for more then 12 years so I have faith they know exactly what they're doing.

besides the name that Blizzard has made itself, i'm judging WoW by it's quality and not by blizzards name...but, as you might agree, both are quite good

I'm hoping blizzard can do what theyve done with SC and WC to WoW. I have some doubts though being that it is blizzards first MMORPG and they are definately two different types of systems. It takes a lot more to run an MMORPG than it does to run a RTS. Hopefully they will give the same quality and dedication they have to their other games and give us a great result.

Although it is possible for a game like WoW to completely be a let down with all the hype that's going on. I think the odds of that are very slim once you look at Blizzards track record. A game made by a company like Blizzard is a great game to follow with out actually playing it since you know odds are the quality of that game is going to be great. Although sometimes companies with bad track records or no track record at all, will surprise you with a quality game. So I say Blizzards track record is enough for now, at least until I get to play the game my self.image

I think Blizzard will definately do a good job at making WoW. There track record is amazing with many hit games over the years and just because they are branching out into a new genre that they have never really covered before doesn't mean that they wont do a great job.

WoW by Blizard will be a hit.  Not because of the name Blizzard, but because of all the effort they have done in making WoW the truley best mmorg coming out!  This game will have everything from quests, events, unique items, and so on....  Best of part (No offense to EQ players), there is less time developed into "grinding" for all your experience.

EQ main focus has always been grinding and pharming for items.  WoW (Blizzard) took out these two components and made online mmorpg fun!

imageimageimageimageimage for Blizzard making WoW!  And for all those that have not seen Beta currently, all I can say is OMG OMG OMG!!!  Enjoy.. =)

Two reasons you could be let down.  1)  The key players behind those popular, and well designed, hits are now not with Blizzard.  2)  Blizzard was once a company that decided when to release a game and that it wouldnt be released until it was done.  Owned by Vivendi now, though they may say it, Im sure Vivendi has a bit of influence.

Now, those two things aside, I am beta testing WoW and I'll say they definately havent let me down and yes, live up to their reputation

    Just my opinion :)

Actually that's inncorrect about the developers leaving. Only a few have left and were mostly tied with the RTS parts of their games so their leaving has 0 impact on WoW.

And Vivendi is the main company who owns tons of other companies (Mythic, Valve, Interplay, etc.) and merely provide the companies resources while they share in on some products. They have very little say in what goes on in those companies.

If anyone could do an MMO good enough to sell the same millions of copies their other games did, its blizzard.
