I got my DT to 16 before the server update, and just wondering if everyone else is liking them. So far so good for me. Im going to get him to 20, then try out some other classes so i can skip the noob 1-20 area.

I got my DT to lvl 18. And its great, im lovin the class. I'm not a huge mmo player..but AOC sucked me in. At lvl 15 I got 32 pvp kills in White Sand. Crazy fun

Played a barb up till now, rolled a DT for the EA and it seems to out kill the barb. At least pre lvl20
Liking it so far
At 13 during OB DT sucked at pvp. At 20 they rocked. Only problem is WoW jumping morons, makes it hard to get combos. Once we get some kind of slow they will die fast trying to do gay ass wow pvp.
i was thinking about rolling DT, good to see some positive feedback on them.
nyhc!
I'm lvl 20 and owning hard in PvP (watch out non-Aquilonians on Bane). Not many pvp deaths at all, but I do notice one huge thing: It is really important as a DT to circle around your target when PvPing. This is true especially when facing casters or rogues of any kind, because their combos can be painful. If you circle, you don't get hit often, and as a heavy armor wearer with a shield you don't take much damage.
As far as the lifetap goes, it needs to be more potent, because spamming +1s and +4s just is not cutting it, nor making any difference in survivability. Casters and rangers are an easy kill as long as you get out of the way.
I have also noticed that it is extremely hard to pull off combos during fast-paced pvp, because in some cases you are forced to stop and make sure you hit your target with the opener before the combo is executed. Most of the time I just spam buttons and win that way without using combos; however, I wish the combos would "go off" quicker so I could still use them while swinging like a madman lol.
Tanking is amazing, and the buffs are cool. I love the DT so far, but I feel they need to be kicked up a small notch in the lifetap/dmg shield department.
A big downfall is players usually run from tank classes.
I'm a level 36 PvE Tank build Dark Templar. This class has answered all my prayers; It brings new stuff to the table than just massive defense in the form of healing (parts of the damage you recieve and deal are converted into heals for either you or your entire team and yourself), has some nice and usefull buffs & debuffs and overall seems to be shaping up as a more challenging Tank class, i.e the Gaurdian being the single target boss tank, the Dark Templar being the AoE tank (and you dont get a lot of AoE skills so that makes your job more challenging .
I'm having an immense blast with this class. I also see that it has the potential for a nice DPS build (improved frenzy stance, replace shield with a tome, spec more into Desecration and get Covenant of War, combine it with Unholy Blight and kabooooom team heals+DPS).
I'm actually taking the defensive PvP route, where I intimidate other players by the lack of dmg they do against me, then clean them off with the swift combos.
I give the guy above me credit for taking a meat shield class and turning it into a barbarian-like DPS class. That's definitely risk-taking at it's best.
I just want to take advantage of how much I can absorb and lifetap while debuffing and hacking my enemy to shreds. I agree, it is an amazing class that can be played any way.
Nah I haven't specced my DT towards the build I explained above =p I just realise that its possible to do so, so if I get bored of tanking (which I won't) I can always spec Desecration, imp. Frenzy stance and Incinerate Ether aswell as that shadow beast thing to do some hefty damage against mobs with mana, and ofcourse heal my party whilst doing it.
I myself am currently specced as a PvE tank and I intend on staying that way =p
same here..
