xp pro PC unable toplay after todays patch

in Age of Conan: Unchained

I have two pc's one vista and one xp pro. After todays patch my vista machine is fine but I am having serious issues with my xp pro one (the one my wife plays).

After todays patch she can't stay in the game longer than about 30 seconds with out the client freezing up and we have to use ctrl,alt,delete to close the client via the task manager. we played for ten hours straight yesterday with no issues whatsoever.

anyone else having this issue? anyone know of a fix or workaround for this issue?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Don't know if it helps but:

    If you experience the client hanging time and time again please run the SimpleConfig.exe and use the verify/repair option. You find the Simpleconfig.exe in the installation path of the game. This will verify and repair corrupted files. After the verifying tool has run please try again to start the game.

    This was on euro forums.

    update 1- finished verifying, 0 corrupted files found nothing was fixed.

    Sorry to hear that. I'm running xp as before so I can't think of anything else, check if something did not change in video settings maybe but I doubt it...

    nothing changed I triple checked everything. I uninstalled the game and am reinstalling now. thanks for your help though.

    In my case, everytime they have an update it changes me to shader 3.0 and water reflection from everything, once i turn those off i'm good :D.

    I reinstalled and repatched now I can't get further than the character selection. I have shader 2.0 selected and water reflections disabled. I ran the Verification once again as well  and once again 0 invzalid resources were repaired. no answers on the official forums either. I guess I will have to wait until tomorrows server downtime and see if it gets fixed.
