Advice on Choosing a MMORPG

I've been searching for a decent MMORPG for days now.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could recommend a game to me after taking into consideration my favorites.

My favorite multiplayer game is probably Monster Hunter (PS2).

The only PC game I really miss is Silkroad online.  I like the game play, the pvp and the open environment, but I'm not sure I'm up for 6 hours of grinding per level.  I would prefer something faster.

I played WoW until it was ruined by Arena gear and faction grinding.

I played Guild Wars but didn't really like it.  I didn't like how all pve was instances, not an open environment.  It was hard and boring to do quests alone and now there's like 8 expansions that are 30-40$ each.
