The community in WoW is one of the worst, not a bad game but horrible community. People still make alts all the time... or you could just try for one of their newer servers which you'll have to search for 'cause I don't know what they are.

What do you mean by "since there are so many level 70's"?

If it means what I think it means, yes...it is worth playing. There are so many level 70's because there is so much to do at 70.

I'm assuming you're not at 60 yet, which means you've not stepped foot into Outland, which is another continent, with 7 huge zones. Bigger than you've found in Azeroth.

The community has people of all ages, races, and genders. What's more pointed out by the haters is the lack of maturity. Which EVERY game has, and I've not found it to be any more than any game I've played. And it doesn't really matter, people you chose to quest, guild, party with is well...your choice. There's little kiddies in everygame I've played, so dont let that hinder your decision.

Totally disagree, the community in WoW is the same as any other game, it's what you make it and who you decide to associate with that will determine your gaming and community experience!

There are idiots in every game, but that is why the include an ignore function and the ability to walk away from these people.

As for the game and starting from scratch, i have my mains on a very mature server, but the starter areas are still very busy and i still get requests for help from 'new' players every week.

At the end of the day the only person that can answer the question is you and you seem to have done so already since you have enjoyed the trial so much?

uhm...*raises hand* ive played alot of MMOs and WoW by far has the worst community out there.  i mean in CoH/V you find ppl who cant play there class but thats the worst you get. ive never had to deal with retarded spam in every channel in any other mmo...in any case i too am thinking of returning for the simple fact that alot of my friends play it. but idk if its worth lleaving CoH/V over.

currently playing: Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2.
Waiting for: Warhammer:Age Of Reckoning, A good Star Wars MMO
    Retired From: WoW 40 Ne Rogue/40 Tauren war/40 BE Hunter, SWG 72 Bothan Medic, CoV 40 DM/Regen stalker, GW 20 W/R 14 E/M 14 W/R, DAoC 20 Vampiir 20 BM 20 BD 20 Thane.

how about a nice tall glass of STFU

No offense, but from my 10 years MMO experience for just 1 year I have faced 50% of them in WoW . I think because of "casual" roots of the game and because most of players in WoW have never played any other MMO.

    Yes, it is worth.

First of all now you have 2x experience gain from mobs at level 20-60 and quests from level 30-60, so getting to 60 will be faster than before.

Second, people makes a lot of alts, so you should not have much problems finding people to group with. Heck I'm considering making a new alt group of 5 to do instances and level up together with some friends and the starting blood elf area was quite full. So was the Draenei and human zones.

My main character has been there since the EU servers opened and i have about 10-11 people on my ignore list, now if i look back and see that only that many people in that amount of time have annoyed me enough to be put on ignore, that isn't too bad at all.

Some time ago i had two accounts in EVE for a while and i met some real a**holes in there. People provoking noobs into fights so they get ganked by security patrols, can raiders, posting mis-descriptions of goods to to fool people into paying millions for a missile, posting contracts that were impossible to complete with HUGE penalties for not completing......and so on, but as it is such a massive space with so few players they tended to be a little more spread out. WoW is a heavily populated game with closed in spaces in the major cities, so i guess it is a little more apparent when someone is acting up.

Make no mistakes, there will always be a certain percentage of any MMO community that is there just to wind up everyone else, it is the nature of any society unfortunately.

As for the reason being that wow is more 'casual' or 'wow players have never played another MMO', well no offense but that is the same unfounded comments that gets thrown in wow's direction every time this debate rears it's head.

I disagree that the community in WoW is bad.   I play on the PvP server of Smolderthorn and found a very active and friendly community there.   Even those playing for the evil alliance are sometimes nice and actually honorable.   I like WoW and will continue to play WoW and I actually look forward to WotLK.

I most certainly and whole heartedly agree with Teala regarding WoW's community.

I've been playing for... well, just about forever now and have found many upon many wonderful and amazing community members on every server I've ever played. Both Alliance and Horde by the way.

IMVHO, WoW is a stand out game. If you're having fun, keep playing and see where it leads you. don't be afraid to meet people and have a good time. Don't worry about the lvl 70's... you'll get there when you get there.

First off, the community IS one of the worst around in the MMO community and I've played several.

WoW is still a good game and worth playing to level 70 once or twice.  The endgame is pretty much fail imo.  Not much but sitting in a few battlegrounds that will get old fast and arenas which are unbalanced.

It's still worth a shot though.  It's simple and popular. Everyone can get a cheap thrill out of the world but it lacks any depth.

If you got a newer computer AoC is paving the road to MMO greatness.

Now, now, do not give the boy false hope. AOC require the top of the line system from what has been said. Sure some have said they can run at low quality, huge loading time, and 5-30 FPS, with a medium range system (looking at still about £1000 for one of those). Not everyone buys PC's to play on and that gme will have a small userbase becaue of this.

OP: Just play the game. Buy timecards or just pay monthly, that way if you do get bored you can easily freeze your account.

The community is the same one that you saw when you were in the trial.  What did you think of it?  Why ask this question here when all you are going to get is responses from either Fanboi's or Haters.  Make up your own mind.

might be quite hard if you want to group up to the level cap, but soloing up there isn't a problem.
