and this game to me got boring very fast, the combats like all other point and clicks, there are no animations, very repetitive, HIGH leveled mobs are mixed in with low lvl ones and no way to find out what they are, you cant run away, & you can equip ANY armour or weapons, at any level.....just not fun to me.

If you have ever heard of AC2 very much like it, to me they tried to do too much with graphics, rather than game play.....you will find out next week if you join open beta.

How long did you play? I played SoR for about 2 months in open beta back from the last week in April thru the end of June and despite the server lags, crashes and game bugs (which is part of beta and part of the job of testers to discover and report so they get fixed), I found the combat system and game play to be good.

You can run away from a mob, to a town where the guards will kill it or maybe you'll get lucky and a kind adventure or adventuring party will strike it down before it strikes you down. There is way to tell high level from low level mobs, but you must read in the online manual and talk to people to know how to. The combat system though still being point and click is a nice modular system that allows you to customize your attacks. Then you've got the Kitin invasions which you have to defend against, Goo that you have to keep in check lest it contaminate the land, Guild vs Guild, Guilds able to gain outposts and lands and control towns and cities. All these actions affect the main story line and history on each shard.

Granted SoR is not for everyone, but if your patient to learn and want something a little different and more mature, then SoR might be for you. Sorry you had such a bad experience, but maybe you should've played longer and gotten off the newbie island which I assume from what I've read that you did not. Also, grouping up with people in SoR is highly recommended especially if you choose to play as a melee fighter type character.

Yeah, you have no idea how awesome the game is now. You can't judge a game by discussing what it looked like months and months before it's released. Your review means absolutely nothing. image

A few months ago after I tried to test Saga of Ryzom, I was angry, let down, and frustrated with the game.  It was not playable for me.  Hardly anything worked.  I crashed after 30 seconds in the game everytime I logged in.  Of course I reported all of my troubles like a tester should, but I soon quit testing because I was unable to do anything.

To open a beta test in this condition was a strange decision to make, but I am curious now how the game has progressed and I am looking forward to this weekend to try the open beta again.

I never made any comments or judgement about the gameplay or any features about SoR after I first tried it, because I barely got to experience it.  Someone should play a FINISHED mmorpg for at least a couple of months before giving a review . . .  I mean, initial comments and opinions are fine, but all too muchI see people say that a game sucks without really playing it.  I may have said Ryzom sucked back then, but it was out of frustration and pointed at the development team and upper management who decided to open the beta is such poor condition.  How could a player test the game when it doesn't support an Ati video card?  That was ridiculous.  I hope that issue is fixed now, or I will be making another quick exit and bashing Nevrax some more.
