Pre-order Accounts Getting Frozen

At the moment pre-order accounts, which are not part of the Early Access program or have not yet registered a valid retail-key, are put into frozen status. This is because only Early Access customers and those with a registerd retail-key are actually allowed to play on the servers.
These pre-order accounts are also blocked from accessing the forums as they are only available for customers with currently active game accounts (which right now the pre-order accounts without a valid retail-key are not)
This is actually correct behaviour of the billing system. As soon as the servers have been opened for launch, these customers will have to enter a valid retail-key in order to unfreeze their accounts and get access to the game servers and the forums.
We will open read access to the forums for everybody soon. But it will always be that only customers with valid game accounts will be allowed to write posts and engage in discussions with the community.

Thanks a ton for the helpful posting. I was getting a bit worried myself when I saw the Frozen account status etc. They really could have planned this out a little better. Ah well, all games have their bumpy launches.
Showing forum access as banned and account status as canceled/frozen is probably one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. I was literally about to call my bank and stop the payment for the game but figured I would check here first since emailing their support center isn't working and i couldn't find a phone number.
I can't even check the link as it requires you to access the forums which I am being told I am banned from.
My account shows as active in the registartion part of their site, I updated the retail key and it reopened it.
I still have Zero access to the forums.

I did that yesterday and was able to access the forums 30min later

Agreed with saying thanks for the info. As a european I wont fingers crossed be ingame till the 23rd so having the access just to readthe forums is a great help to keep an eye on things.
I hope they soon learn to treat their potential and current customers better, all we needed was to be informed!
Well, I just wish I had some idea what is going on.
Can't get into the forums -- says I'm banned. (I know I'm not the only one there.) My account is frozen and everytime I try to log in, it says that my username/password is case sensitive (i.e., it won't let me log in).
I hope I can stick with this. It's been frustrating so far.
Yep..I'm having the same problem too. I'm waiting patiently. Problem is it's just about 5am and I hate wasting my time. If it's a valid key they want, I have one. I don't suppose they posted a link where we can enter it in without disrupting my preorder perks? Anyone have an ETA on this?
For the life of me, I can't figure out what I did wrong. Other people are playing... is it because they were in the EA?
Is anyone able to access the forums? I changed nothing in my account settings -- somehow they changed it for me. *sigh*
Keep in mind that this is a European company. An american company would know not to do this because of the number of complaints they would get would be staggering. American companies avoid news that will cause the phones to light up because of FCC regs and so forth. Just cultural differences. Their first MMO flopped over here so they don't have a lot of experience dealing with a high demand game. You can kind of tell this in their interviews and their previews. They seem lost. But anyways, pass it off as cultural differences and move on.

Sorry, i didnt mean that people who got INTO EA needed to change anything, only the people who pre-orders, and have there CD's and manual for the CD key and DID not get into early access

Maybe instead of freezing all the preorders, they should have reopened Early Access. Then I could be playing now instead of having to go cancel my preorder and buying a retail copy at the store down the street. This is just stupid. The preorder client was distributed via Torrent anyway (they called it .solid, but it was still Peer to Peer), thus, letting the preorders download the client wouldn't have cost them any money.
I'll lose out on a few hours game time. No big deal, but the resellers who did mail order preorders are all getting screwed, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who will cancel and go buy the boxed version at brick and mortar. This was not well thought out. I also love the Banned forever message I get when I tried to look at the forums.
