I've been banned from a few different game forums and received that message of "Never" as well but after a couple months you will most likely be able to log back in.

I think their ban lists get wiped or something every so often to make room.

Grow up ?  Learn from your mistakes ?  Respect the opinions of the others ?  Don't insult the others ?  That's just a few recommendation.

Post a video on youtube of yourself smashing a collectors edition of the game like every other responsible adult

    Permanently Banned

Users that become permanently banned are restricted from the forums permanently. Generally this forum account status is given as a last result in cases where a user is so disruptive he or she cannot continue to be a part of the official Age of Conan forum community. All permanently banned forum accounts will be contacted via email by one of the Funcom Community Team representatives. Permanently banned forums accounts do not reflect your play account status. However, if you become banned in-game in result of an in-game violation then your forum account status will also reflect that banning until lifted.

The status of your forum account can be changed by a Funcom Community Team representative on a case-by-case basis. Your conduct on the forums can also result in an in-game account violation depending on the severity of the forum violation.

Probably a bug, because beta forums are filled with people who never posted on official forum banned.

    idiots...

alot of aoc accounts including mine were placed in banned status in the last 24 hours for no apparent reason.  This might get changed once they give read access to anonymous users again.

You need to enter your CD key from the Game Manual (back cover) into your account info. The Early Access key is not active anymore.

I went through the same thing. :(

    See this thread also-

Basically, you are not banned per se (and all the above answers are just wrong). But Funcom are retards for the way they went about this.

I think it is a great idea to only allow actual subscribers to the game to post.  Why should we have to listen to a bunch of this game is better then AoC threads because just anyone can post.

    Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

If that was what was happening then yes it makes sense.  But currently there are broken accounts.  My account for instance I was able to install the game, enter the key, log into the server, and play the game.  But i am instantly banned from the forums for no apparent reason.  There are many people finding themselves in this situation currently.

I am happy with the idea that only registered users can post, but when registered users are prevented from even reading the boards its because funcom broked their shit and needs fix.  I'm hoping when they open the boards to anonymous read-only that they will also solve the broken forum accounts.

I rather have a broken forum than a broken game! at least funcom didn't fucked up the game :p hopefully the server issue is minor.

Same here...I was permently banned for no reason. I posted once and that was about server types. Nothing bannable for sure!

    the sword of no sword...

i agree, so far game experience has been fantastic and thats really what matters.  I think overall they will see this launch as extremely successfull.

But anyone showing up here saying they were banned and dont know why should not be met with lectures about bad behavior.  Its a funcom issue, sit tight for the day and it will likely be resolved.

I am no longer banned.  I am now insufficient privileges.  At least things are moving along.

you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

    1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
    2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
  • elvigyelvigy Member CommonPosts: 249

Haha, yeah, that's where I'm at also. At least having insufficient privileges doesn't sound as bad as "BANNED: When will the ban be lifted? NEVER!"
