Really enjoying the game since EA on saturday. However my gameplay is somewhat ruined by the performance I am getting.
I have a new sony laptop, 4GB RAM, 300GB Hard drive, and Dual 2.2GHz processors.
My graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 8400M GT GPU...
Every single option set to low, 1024x768, and I still max out on 25fps, with the average being 12-15. With graphics this low they are much worse than WoW which I can run on full on 1400x900.
I cannot find any solution to the problem, the game simply cannot run smoothly, it so called "stutters" when I turn or look around, combat is tough as I can barely see what other people are doing. I really do not know what to do, I want to play this game but I simply will have the experience destroyed by the lag + graphics.
Now I have to decide whether to play WoW again instead, carry on with the abysmal graphics that I have to run it on, or attempt to con Sony into believing there is a fault in my laptop, getting a refund and buying something better. I've tried looking for drivers but Nvidia fail at laptop drivers, and any other solution I try fails.
In conclusion it is an awesome game, but I may have to return to WoW if there is no solution (other than buying ANOTHER laptop or desktop).

Outta interest did you try http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
?
its a great video card but there's one thing Ive learned about Laptops; no matter how much money and hardware you sink into those things, the performance is nothing compared to the desktop version of comparable hardware.
I had a similiar laptop. Had issues with gaming on it. It could support the graphics but it slowed everything down. DO you have a desktop PC?
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Laptops are for office work, no matter what you put inside, they never have great performance.
99% of the laptops out there are NOT good gaming machines for these new games....
Sorry.
Just had a look, not sure how well this applies to the 8400M GT, do the drivers apply to most cards or are there specific ones per model?
I guess best option now is to try for a refund, bought it from laptopsdirect.co.uk so will have to go through Sony, not sure how well they will take "Well it won't run Age of Conan properly, so I need a refund"
