Well, against my better judgement I went out and picked up this abomination (or abortion) today. First off it takes 2 DVD's, so expect to spend a minimum of an hour and a half on installing alone. Second, after patching, the game loaded up, with sound only no graphics up to the loading screen (This was a problem from beta, should have been fixed). Next I created a charachter, smoother than Beta. Next I clicked next. KAPOW!!!!! Generating Content............( insert 5 minutes) .................... (make dinner) ........... (game runs out of music) ............ Hmm perhaps some sort of error, I pop open the window manager and kill AOC. I start it back up, again no video till the login screen. And what do I see, my newly created charachter, without a head. I tried to log in, but it did not work again. That's as far as I took it. I'm done with this hunk of crap.

Okay, well lets go check the support site and see if there is anything about my issues.
Oh wait. Their forums are complete failures too. I'm considering a class action lawsuit if I can't get my money back from EB games.
And what exactly did you expect from an MMO on release day? Of course there will be problems, but if you have read the majority of the posts, you will see that they mostly positive. Let the technical side of the game fix, then after playing for a while you can judge again.
More than happy to sir. At this time I have seen the login screen and the char. creation. That's it. I can only judge the game on what i've seen. And it's not looking good.
dont be so dumb. Ive had problems like that and i think your making a bigger deal out of it. you havent even played the game so you wouldnt be able to say that. Maybe its something to do with your computer and not even their fault.
yeah, a class action lawsuit would really be worth it for 50$ wouldnt it. Plus I think it wouldn't take too long to prove that you probably simply don't have much computer skills to begin with. I can understand that it's frustrating for having something you paid for not working as it's supposed to, but if you can't accept the fact that these kind of things happens with computer softwares, then you shouldn't waste time with computer games at all.
Now, as for your problem, the reasons can be many, and I'm sure many people here can help you with it, but moaning about it won't get you anywhere. I suggest posting your computer specss, driver versions, etc. It would be a start in the good direction.
I see a lot of posts complaining about the time it takes to install. Do you guys have serial-ATA DVD burners? Or are you still using IDE connections?
Not sure, this computer is a couple years old though but I've never had problems with the Dvd drive being slow. This installation is slow as hell though. Not even half way yet...
Open the game folder and click simple config, then verify the data base, load up the game on low settings.
The very first time you run the retail version things are slow until it all loads into the data base. Verifying its right for the first few days helps, and after the first day - run a defrag.
0 problems here, and they fixed the black screen sound only problem with my in EA. This is the most polished game to be released yet imo, but im just level 30 ... i have 50 more levels of content to find bugs in
