Get past lvl 30 and then see how awful the ame is. The zones are nothing short of dire and bland. Blizzard attention to detail in everything they do in their zones and eveytrhing is why they are at the top. Look at aoc zones after lvl 30 and see how much work they need doing.

Wow just wow, I really dont believe you have even played AOC retail have you?? Most of the best zones in the game are the 30+ zones. Look at the thunder falls(something akin to that name anyhow) zone as an example.
Anyways I know your just a troll and I should not even respond to you as that just encourages you but you rampant pissant haters need to get a damn life and go back to whatever WOW forum you wackoff to on a regular bases. I bet thinking of those 10mil subscriber numbers gets you off doesn't it, your sick.

Different. I play both and I think Conan world pvp and siege has really good potential. WOW, on the other hand, has had years of balancing and features added already. Time will tell I guess.
Not sure yet which one I will enjoy or play the most in the future. Hopefully both.
They are both good games but different. I'd suggest you give it a try if you liked the story aspect of the original WoW. It will keep your interest for at least a month. Beyond that, it's up to you.
I quit wow a year ago sold my account and bought this new comp with that money that I will now use to run AOC for a while. I am impressed, and I like it.
But I some how think that combat would be ezier if I was using a 360 controller, especially for the melee/caster classes.
Yes it will be almost as big as wow, just maybe not for PC.
Honestly its a great game and sexy as hell on my amd 3600 1 gig o ram and 7600gt.
I expect that AOC will make enough money with the launch to offer something to counter WotLK. But this is the most success that FC has had, I hope they dont F it up.
O and as a beta tester I can say "Magic patches" do exist, I swear I seen one.

I really enjoyed playing WoW and atm I'm having a blast playing AoC, cant really tell which one is better and frankly I don't care. I just wanna have fun!
In every respect Wow beats Conan hands down. From open seamless worlds with no loading graphical screens to the CHOICE of playing styles. Already know many MMORPG's that have a fully fledged e-sport championship ? Only one has it. Conan is the next hyped kid in town, but a very small minority will PAY to play it, because it is an offline design (with loading graphics screen and all) tied to a server for having (not too many) play it in the same zone at once. And of course you need a whopping 8800 GTS to enjoy it. Cities are "blocked" when too many are in it. Entry zones are being camped by gankers because of fixed entry points, "hopping" to escape into zones, people getting killed when they have a loading graphics screen. And MINUTES long waiting times for everything you do IF you follow the boring cut scenes for the 12563th time. Seriously: having a loading screen for 10 seconds to even enter an inn ??? And AGAIN a loading screen to exit the same inn ???? in 2008 ???
This is just another bullshit hater post by Zorndorf, as all the other posts he has posted in this forum. Please go back to your wow forum and stay there, you obvious hasn't played EA AoC. If you are to young to remember (you seems very young) when WoW was new, there were alot of spawn camping, ganking, and you needed a quite good computer "FOR THAT TIME" to play at good quality. I like wow alot, but got quite bored and needed something new.
YOU DO NOT need an 8800gts to play, maybe if you want to play it in the HIGHEST detail. Gah, I'm tired of idiots like you.
edit: Zorndorf how the heck can you know all WOW's salesnumbers and salesstatistics (so exact as they are)? To do that you obvious work for blizzard or you are the biggest fanboy there is.

Did you miss that part, also it will get a million in the first 2 months.
It wont be as big as wow ever, but I strongly believe it will beat the 1 million mark easily. Already they have disabled the free budy key system because the game servers cannot handle the numbers if they got into the game too atm.
That means the first 700k is more or less sold.
"You are the hero our legends have foretold will save our tribe, therefore please go kill 10 pigs."

How many sold and howmany retained is the real answer. Just because they sell 700k or a million whatever it may be really isn t a indication they ll have anywhere close to those numbers. i would say 300-500k when all is said and done.

Where does anyone say it will hit a million in 2 months, is there a guarentee somewhere?
Well I have MORE than a couple of years on you kid<.
I think I played Dungeons and dragons even before you were born... Just like I have my collectors edition of Conan BTW. (Only 3 in our local shop and 25 total for Belgium in the Game mania chain storess) Instead of attacking me in person (and even presuming things which are false) why don't you discuss on my very valid points on the Age of Loading. I play every damned MMORPG I can lay my hand on and Conan is no exception. In fact the only one I dindn't try was Pirates because of some strange reason they didn't release it officialy in the Benelux.
I actually do not think so Zorndorf (according the age). I'm tired of your hate posts, you are upscaling small problems to status HUGE. When you stop with that, then I'll give you some respect. And I do not care on how MANY games you played. All I see when I've been reading your posts are complaints after complaints, making small things big. And it's totally boooooooooring.
I really do not notice all this loading you are talking about. 2 sec screen while entering the first inn, is that disturbing? I do not think so, atleast not after playing EQ2 and enjoyed it. 10 sec screen when loading a BIG new area you hasn't been in before, is that annoying, nah. Not more than the instance loading in WOW.
Ofcourse you need a faster computer to run this game without any flaws than WOW. But when WOW was released you needed quite a good computer for that to run quite ok. And that game is getting quite old, but it is still good and blizzard is doing a great job.
This game has not even been out a week, here in europe it's not even released yet, just the early access. And you go on and on about spawncamping and pk after zoning. Who has never been spawncamped in WOW? Was a quite big problem a few years back. And if you can't handle it then maybe FFA-pvp is not the right way to go? (even if a 10sec timer after spawn when noone could attack you would be nice, and probably on its way).
Many people are reporting the game runs very good from lowend to highend computers, and for those it's sadly not working so good for are a minority and hopefully funcom are working on their issues. I really hope AoC or WAR will be great, we need a new good mmo (atleast we that want more depth than in wow).
Comeon now cheer up and stop the hate :P
ps: do you have anything to backup the "too many people in city so you are locked out" statement? I can't find any info about it.
Well I have MORE than a couple of years on you kid<.

I don't see the relevence of trying to play the 'age' card. Also quite what the relevence of playing D+D as a tabletop RPG throwing a dice god knows how many years ago compared to playing a modern MMO on a PC is beyond me. But I guess you are trying to quantify your rabid bashing for this game and obsession for WOW by using any means you can.
So what are you planning on doing with your collectors edition then? You act like it gives you some sort of higher status because you have one. One of 110,000 of them. I'm tabbed on a website now where I could click a button and buy one myself right now. Doesn't make me special or any better than anyone else.
The problem with you Zorndorf is that instead of running AOC down in a constructive way, you just embelish what you say to make things sound worse than what they really are. Your spin on loading times doesn't wash. It takes between 3-5 seconds for me, on my mid/low range pc , to zone into inn's and other buildings. Is that game breaking? Not for me. Does it ruin the immersion for me? Not one bit.
Zone load times are quick - what 20 odd seconds at the most. The question is , immersion is a personal thing. I will take the graphics and settings AOC is set in over WOW any day. It immerses me in the same way games like COD4 do because the graphics are realistic, believeable and add to the immersion of the game you are in. If the sacrifice is load times into zones which are far far less of an issue than you continue to claim, then so be it.
If your idea of immersion in a seamless world is disney channel cartoon graphics with a hat full of gnomes spam jumping around all over the place shouting 'lol' 'stfu nub' etc etc indispersed with lvl1 bots flogging gold then keep playing WOW.
You claim you need a 8800gts to play the game. You are misinformed and lie. You do realise you need at least a gf9800 to play wow don't you? DId you see what I did then - I lied out of my arse - exactly the same thing as what you are doing and continue to do. Talking rubbish and trying any old trick you can to bash this game.
You're beating on the spawn camping issue. 2 things. Play on a PVE server, or wait for funcom to address the issue and provide solutions to it. Are you under the impression that they aren't going to adjust things to improve the gameplay? Perhaps with your self confessed MMO experience you seem to think that funcom will break the mold and not change the gameplay and balance it where needed like other companies do.
Where are these minutes long waiting times? What game are you playing then? It isnt AOC thats for sure.Perhaps you were in the open beta prior to it being patched up and were running it on a very low spec pc. I can only asume that's the case or something similar because nothing you say sits with me and I was in it.
I seriously don't see where there's this huge choice of playing srtyles in WOW. Raid spec, or pvp spec. Make your choice of 2 styles. e-sports is a gmmick and a sales vehicle - nothing more than that. It's arena with it's cookie cutter class combos with a prize bolted on the end of it. It's entertaining that you talk about the 'minority' that will pay to play this game. I take it you are making a direct comparison to WOW. In which case every MMO out there will be a minority. The poll running on this board shows that of the people that have answered, nearly 40% are LEAVING wow to play this game. If WOW is so good, if WOW is the be all and end all of MMO's , if WOW is the best thing in immersion, graphics, diversity , class balance, choice of interesting and varied things to do, challenging, rewarding and so on, then why are nearly 40% of people in a poll leaving it?
Your continuous AOC bashing wrapped up in your self evident WOW fan persona only reiterates the notion that leaving that game for fairer shores is a choice decision to make. Seriously, get a grip. Seems sad to say that to a 52 year old but there you go
There is a counter argument to this. Lack of graphics progression was one of the reasons that drove me away from WoW and makes LOTRO so much more enjoyable and immersive experience.
When I heard that Funcom was the company that produced AoC, I had a pretty good idea of how the engine would play, having experienced AO gameplay as well. Both AO (in it's prime) and EQ2 are good examples of immersive RPGs that are still very much alive and kicking today.
Every generation of graphics updates gives new opportunities to developers to use new tools to create more immersive worlds. Developers have the choice to either use those tools or ignore them. WoW decided to, maybe, update the graphics engine in the next expansion, the one after the Lich King. They made the choice not to use the new tools, thus not to make their world more immersive than what it is today. Lets hope they rethink their decision and procceed with a choice similar to what EVE did.
As for AoC, those who don't play the game can only comment in prinsiple on how disruptive or intrusive the instance-zoning is (if it happens in out-of-Tortage areas). The haters will hate regardless, so they are not a good indication of things. There have been many discussions before this one on things that were academically and in theory bad design choices. These discussions and their topics didn't seem to affect the positive reception of the game so far. I believe this discussion will have the same conclusion.
The next academic discussion I'm expecting to start soon is whether the game will have long lasting appeal. We'll be here to witness the same Kassandras trying to predict doom and gloom for one more time, for sure.
Actually, you're to blame for bashing as well against me. When I presented WoW's history, a game you obviously adore but have forgotten it's history and looking at it from an idealistic perspective.
The truth of the matter is that those people that keep MMOs afloat do not read these boards for the most part, making our posts a tad meaningless in the process
I must admit its been a long while since I played WOW. And I loved it when it first came out. However WOW has that "grinding" feeling which i hate, and I havent got that with AoC yet (Beta)
So, yes, AoC is better than wow simply because it improves on wow without copying it.

I really doubt that AoC will be larger then WoW for the simple reason that the game mainly focuses on adults that with a rated M for Mature (i know it rarely helps) but I think and hope we will see more mature players in AoC.
Also define "better" liking or disliking a game (or anything else for that matter) is something personal. Even though WoW is played by millions of people I never really liked it. I have yet to play AoC but will do so when buddy keys or a free trail is available since I'm rather picky with my mmo's I'm not going to pay for it before i try it.
Another thing that really bugs me about almost all mmo's is that they still don't have a sold way to stop gold/item and character selling and the use of bots. This is one of the main reasons I still play lineage 2 in an private community I mean the game is great and loads of fun but the official servers are an joke with more bots then players...
Tx for the post. I always talk about Conan, never about the "people" that play it like ALL Wow haters do on this site. First the issues in all of my posts come back to ONE big design complaint. MMORPG's can't have OFF line graphics techniques. There is of course the loading graphics issue, but all further complaints are a result of this design. Secondly I am in Conan since open beta (ordered the CE) and I have the code to prove it. I didn't download 13 Gig for nothing you know. ------ Well the lock out system of the city is the following: when too many people are in it, another (loaded) instance is created of the same city. It's like going to another parallel dimension. You are in the same city but in reality you're not. The same will be used with those upcoming siege systems. THAT's why they limit these so called massive siege fights to 48 person groups. The computers just can't handle this in MMO's with these silly kind of on line graphics. Just like the FIXED entry points in the zoning system it is a method of "having a solution" to avoid lag and FPS. Showing once again that off line graphics techniques are NOT to do things. I think this discussion is even the core of all problems future MMORPG's face. With kids asking so called more realistic graphics HOW can designers explain WHY MMORPG's can't have them without hampering gameplay.
Well it's the way you are exaggerating everything that's starting to get on people's nervs. Take that as an advice.
You have ONE issue with the game. The instanced zones (which you refer as lockout). You can still change to any other instance if you want. And they are not that annoying for MOST people as you may think. But I have to say, GOOD thing we all are not the same, we all like/dislike different things. Most people doesn't have an issue with a few secs loadingscreen once in a while, but some seems to have and making it a big thing. A few seconds, one two three, damn, I wonder how many of those I spend on this forum.
I think I've spend more time waiting for the damn boat in menethil harbor than I'll ever will spend on loadingscreens in this game.

why compare? WoW is for the masses with no skill and crappy computers. I even bet poster no. 2 in this thread is either 1 or both hehe
Try the game out instead, and if u dont wanna buy it yet, then wait for buddy codes to come out :-)

Yes, I enjoy MMO addiction very much.
And ya I assume Poster 2 is a gnome fanboi.

WoW stole 3 years of my life and i want them all back! Oh never mind i'd only waste them...but ill take the 15 minutes from vanguard back Right NOW!
It's up to each individual to decide. Personally, I don't think it's better than WoW. It certainly won't be as popular worldwide.
