Need help money burning a hole
Ok so i somehow without realizing saved up 580, and i wanna upgrade my pc but i cant think of any logical upgrades. My system isnt super hardcore as i really dont want it to be but it is midrange , i can run age of conan on high settings smoothly even with the ATI/AMD bugs.
My system:
Mother Board : MSI K9A2 Platinum AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
Cpu : AMD AM2 Black Edition 2.6 5000+
Gpu : 2x Saphire Radeon HD 2900 Pro ( OC'd to extreme clock speeds)
Ram : G,Skill 2x 2GB pc2 6400
Case : Thermal Take Armor Full
PSU : Zalman 850 continuous energy modular heatpipe cooled
Zero Therm UFO heatsink
Os - windows XP Pro , soon to be Vista Ultimate
Possible upgrades / wants (none of these i can justify)
from 2900 xts to 3870 (i only gain dx 10.1 in Vista Sp1)
Quad core phenom ( not needed in todays games really, Inexpensive upgrade when its ready)
HDMI 24 inch moniter, but idk what i would do with this other then my 360 which my ocmputer desk wont allow me to do that very easily.
ANY logical help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

lol your system is nearly a mirror of my system. Although I see you went with the Thermaltake Armor instead of the Thermaltake Xaser. Personally I wish I went with the Armor too.
My top 2 picks on upgrades would be a newer monitor. Make sure the response time is good though, and the Phenom. Clock for Clock the phenom performs faster then Athlon. No need to upgrade the 2900 Pro. Lol you bought 2 of them when it was in limited quantity. I was actually eying those for a month. They will actually perform on par or a little better then the 3870 aside from Thermal and Electricity. If you do upgrade the video card wait until July and the HD4870's.
You can overclock your CPU to 3+ GHz if you haven't already. You've got a good air cooler. Other than that, there isn't any upgrade to drastically boost performance. You could also buy a good sound card and audio system.

i might just hold on save up for a nice laptop or something, the monitor has 2ms respons im using a 22 inch 5 ms right now wide

I would wait for 4850/4870 series ,theyll come at mid june
Hmm, It's a quite nice rigg. You could always get some harddrives and a RAID card. 3 or 4 harddrives and a card that supports RAID 5 will speed up anything loading from your harddrives a lot and at the same time make your computer safer (If a drive stop working, just throw the crap out, put in a new and you lost no data).
Or you could go SCSI.
And you could put up the monitor on the wall if you don't have much room.
