I can only play for an hour at a time

In other games, there is other stuff to do besides questing. You can craft or explore and such. In AOC, all there is to do is quest.  And after  an hour or so it gets really tedious, and i have to stop for a while.

Maybe I will enjoy the crafting at lvl 40 . i don't know if I will make it that far though.

I do agree that having to wait until level 40 to begin crafting was kind of a strange choice.  As for the quest being boring, I have to disagree.  The quests are all pretty closing to each other so they are easily completed and if you round up all the quests in town, complete them, and then turn them in you get a nice chunk of exp.  Questing beats having to grind endlessly on some mob out in the middle of nowhere.

only reason it is boring to me so far, is i am playing alone. no one talks, groups, or anything, and everything is instaned. it sucks.

but if you dont talk to no one how are people going to talk to you. But the chat system in AoC is bad i think personally. If i could name a flaw it would be that. You dont know when someone is giving you a tell because everything else is spamming and u just arnt paying attention to the tell system. Because i have tried to talk to people and they just seem to not be able to see the message and i know they arnt ignoring me because i send tells to Real life friends and they just dont see them and i dont see them when they tell me back and i have a designated window for tells. Well let me rephrase that i see them but its been like 5 minutes since i recieved them. I have to call them to get any communication between us. So yeah if AoC fixes the Chat System i cant see any real flaws to the game.

Im not big on crafting so that part doesnt bother me to much. But if i did like it i would be heated that i had to wait to lvl 40 to do so. Luckly its fairly easy to level in AoC as you dont seem to have a EXP penelty for dying. I think if you put in 40 or less hours into the game u will be 40 with ease.

I do hope that FC fixes the chat system and soon. It's the one major flaw I can see at launch. They need to do everything possible to facilitate a sense of community for the game to have longevity.

They need to make OOC its own little tab.  You would be ok with group chat and tells stuck in another box.

Quick question: are there leveling dungeons that give XP, or is it all questing. Dungeons were my favorate part of WoW and i would be disapointed if they weren't included (it might be only because WoW quests sucked)

At level 20 you can go and get your gatherer skills and start gathering mats for when you're 40. This for when you are bored of questing or just grinding for xp. And from my short experience there's some time to be spent gathering if you plan to evolve and mine higher grade mats.

Where do  you get your gatherer skills? is it a quest somewhere?

Ok, I just read somewhere that you have to be in a large guild before NPC's will even give you the gathering quests

on the chat window, there is a tab with a star, click that and it has options to open new windows for several different chat options, including guild, group and tells.

The quest givers for gathering can be found in certain areas where guild cities can be built.  Purple Lotus Swamp for example has quest givers for all of the gathering trades.

You can do your own tab and put/remove any single channel to it/ Why peoples dont look into options and set things up as they want it before complaining? :p For chat, right click on a tab or on the top corner of the window to get more options.

Same here, I can't play more than a hour or two myself. Either I get bored of doing quests or my fingers kill me.

I have never been much on being "FORCED: to quest in a MMO. I like UO back in it's day, before questing was a main stay in any MMO. I like to quest some, adventure mostly, and throw in alittle crafting when bored. And yes, I am on of those that enjoys MMO's alot, but hate to group. MMO does not mean group play only. It means there are others around you in game to interact with on some level.
