what are you running AOC on?

I already bought the game just need to buy the rig now I already have one in mind that beats the reccomened specs but it comes with a ATI 2900 which is a ok card but I am tempted to just throw that one out and get the 8800 gt but I am not sure. If any one knows if the ATI is fine I would be great of you to tell me.

my specs are to the left, it runs it "ok" at medium settings, shader model 2.0. i really hope they optimize it some more, because it was very disappointing.

When i DO* get it. I will enjoy it's beauty with

Duo Gforce 9800 GTX SLI, Over clocked from BFG* Inc.4 gigs of ram.

A new 24 INCH! HP HDMI!!! !widescreen monitor , that i bought esp' for this game.

If only i could find a copy of the game in my town now >< I just might kick myself in the ass if i had a foot large enough.

8800 will render the graphics very nicely as long as RAM and processor do not lead to a bottleneck. Can you not get a custom build rig that includes the 8800, I'm sure that would be cheaper than buying something else then replacing the card. I'm afraid I'm not sure how good the Ati is, but people some people on here are exaggerating the quality of graphics card needed, on my laptop I'm running low-medium graphics (which still look pretty good) on 1024x768 with just a GeForce 8400M GT.

Lol you didn't pre-order to get your free mount at level 40? Lol that sucks majorness.. Its to bad  though. Has anyone who has the the game noticed that the specs on the box are lower then what they used to say online. I was just looking at that.

No no, i Pre-ordered for like 10$ us, and got my code.

I just forgot to Pre-order the retail version. Busy with work tends to make things slip my mind ><

I chose the Rhino mount BTW, looked cool for PVP !

My latency is around 90- 130 ms on the Bluesteel server and i'm in Northern Alberta ,Canada. My FPS are an amazing 45-130 ,on avg about 70fps. All my settings are on max as well as my screen resolution. However I'm sporting a E8400 @ 3ghz x 2, 4 gb 1066 ram, and a amazing overclocked 9800gx2 ssc vid card.

Look for me on the Bluesteel server, i'll be the barbarian taking your head off from the shadows.

    I'm using:

    windows vista

    2x 2.2 duo core2 cpu's

    4 gigs ddr 2 ram

    85oo gt nvidia

    400 gig hard drive

    windows rating of 4.7

And atm I have to run the game on low setting..still get lag in tortage too

I'm a lil disapointed but hoping theres lots of optimising on the way, as AOC req windows rating 4.0 and recomends 4.8

I was hoping to run it all at medium settings.

I'm sure things will improve tho.

Well the whole thing is I am buying the rig at bestbuy since I work there=discount and all that stuff..so there is a rig with a 8800 in it but it costs way more then then it should and there is a rig with a 2900 in it which is priced ok and has alot more upgradeablity and it is a quad core/ 3.754 ram(or what ever number out of 4 gigs vista can read.)

    XP32 Pro

2GB Memory (have more, but some weird mac pro boot camp issue...ordering vista x64)

    Nvidia 8800GT

    23" LCD 1900x1200

    2x2.8GHz Quad Core Intel

I run at 1900x120 on high, and then made a couple of other tweaks after.  Averages I'd say 25fps for me, which hasn't annoyed me yet.

    I'm running it on a 3100sempron, 1.5gb ddr400 and an ATI x1300pro

I can 'run' it, but it doesn't run great.  I'm getting around 10-14fps on low in tortage, but it is impressive that it runs at all to be honest.

Again someone with a completely capable computer, with the graphics card holding you back. Quite frustrating really, I'm suffering the same, 4gb ram 2.2dual core and an 8400M GT.

    Hi!

I was in the same position about a year back when I thought AoC was to come out in october. Here is my system.

    - Windows Vista 64 home Premium

    - Nvidia nForce 680i sli Motherbboard

    - BGF 8800 GTX 768 Mb

    - 8 Gig RAM DDR 2 800, 4 x 2

    - Intel Q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz cpu

    - SB X-fi extreme audio

    - 2 x 35 gig raptor 10500 rpm in raid 0, only AoC runs on these disks

    - 2 x 320 gig sata in raid 0 for all the rest in 4 partitions

    - LG 226 WTX widescreen monitor

I have all this in the biggest Thermatake case I could get at the time with the biggest water cooled system.I also bought a battery backup to protect all that nice hardware. Also, cpu and RAM were upgraded from dual and 4 gig a couple weeks after i got in beta. Also I have nothing overclocked yet. I wanted to see after launch first as I prefer stability to mad performance. :)

My in game performance. I run the game since Feb in closed beta with everything maxed out except full shadow and no AA. With AA bloom is just not good in high enough resolution and full shadow seems to increase the crashes. I was to wait for the DX10 client to put that and see. Even at start in beta I could very often play for 10+ hours without a single crash. I can run through any zone without a single stuttering and sprinting with a horse using all my stamina once the shader file is built. Loading time are anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds depending on zones.

That system is 1 year old so I am guessing you can get some of the pieces cheaper than I paid for them or even a best one for same price.

    Cheers!

Should probably be ok, your RAM might limit you slightly considering how demanding Vista can be (I've seen it reach 1.2gb ram...) but yeh I think you should be fine

I'm running everything on MAX settings, Full AA/Shadows with 60 fps constant.

    8800 Ultra

    3GB RAM

    QuadCore OC'd ~ 3.6

    Vista 32 SP1

This isn't a horribly expensive rig, I'm getting sick of people in game constantly whining about lag with a 3 year old system.

    Running:

    Vista Ultimate 64

    Asus Maximus Formula (intel x38)

    Xeon e3110 (@ 3GHz)

    8GB DDR2 @ 1002

    ATI HD3870 (stock clock)

This works wonderfully @ high settings with the NPC render distance cranked up in addition.  No AA and no bloom set.

I don't know how expensive that is but thats pretty hardcore.

But makes me feel more confidant in my

    8800GT

2GB (maybe 3 or 4 GB soon) RAM

    Dual Core

    And Vista 32 with SP1

    I have a

    AMD 64 Athlon X2 4600

    8800 GTS Vid Card

    4 Gigs DDR 800 Ram

I can run the game on Medium with a 1440-900 Resolution and not lag at all. Which is a surprise because back in Beta, I lagged pretty bad in cities. At times it was unbearable. I didn't think Funcom could pull this off. I'm very impressed with the launch.

It seems that no one uses ATI Graphics cards which is scarying me since I would rather not have to buy a Geforce for my new rig...

In conparison to the 2900 xt ((I am pretty sure)) what is the difference between the 3870? On the all the side by side comparisons I have read it looks like they are almost the same with teh 2900 running a little slower then the 8800 geforce.

Hi!  My husband and I are getting ready to build two new computers (this will be our first go at building our own computers but now a days things seem so plug and play that we figure with a good tutorial we could give this a shot and learn some stuff along the way...you never know until you try) however I would like to know if the components im looking at will run AoC on High with little to NO problems (preferrably):

AMD Athlon Dual Core 6000 (3 gig)

    Nvidia 8800 GTS (628 mb)

    4 Gigs of DDR2 Ram

    Windows Vista 64bit version

....if anyone has a good suggestion for a motherboard I would love to hear it, I am currently looking at a GIGABYTE ATX motherboard that is compatable with DDR2 and DDR3.

We can't wait to play AoC and the plan was to be ready for release but you know how life gets in the way sometimes.  Glad to hear that many people are having success...I've heard a few bad stories but nearly as many as I suspected.
