    The first conan is a single player game.

    The new one is the mmo .

    The Age of Conan MMO is a stand alone game, you don't need any pre-existing game to run it. Good luck!

    I sure as heck hope we don't need the first one, that was published in 1984 and was for the Commodore 64 :D

    I was surprised to see there has been 6 (and now 7) video games based on the Conan mythos, but Wiki has a nice article about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conan_the_Barbarian#Games

    But as the fine people in this thread have already said, you just need 'Age of Conan' from Funcom to play the mmo version.
