I rush to buy game so I can wait 3 1/2 hours!

Whats the deal with this big patch?  I mean my gosh game has only been out 2 days. I rush to pick up the game and install it just to find out that I have to wait another 3 hours and 30 minutes for a stupid 645 mb patch!  I dread for the slower internet people who come to join after 2 months and find a 3gig patch.  Sersiouly they should fix their stuff before putting it on a cd and shipping it out.

This is not a hate post in anyway to the actual game play.  Hell it might be the best game I ever play.  Just pissed that I have to sit here and wait for a big patch.  By the time this big boy is finished I will be in bed and not able to try out AoC for another day.

In the last little while of Beta, a LOT of work was being done to optimize the game so the big patch is no big surprise to me.  The whole install took me about an hour and a half.  I was surprised how quickly the download came!

The registration process was terrible... but now I'm in game so I feel better hehe

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

Seriously, are you new to MMOs?  9/10 when a game first comes out, there is a patch that needs to be downloaded.  Product is shipped to the producer ahead of time so that they can run the CDs/DVDs and get them packaged and shipped to the stores.  This doesn't happen overnite like a newspaper.  Besides, many of us have waited for years for this game to come out, so one more day isn't going to hurt.

I actually found the registration process not to bad.  Well since you told me it was in the last part of beta and its dealing with how smooth the game runs then it does not piss me off so bad.  I was just irritated due to the fact of me being delayed yet again of being able to enjoy this mmorpg lol.  This big patch could be a bad thing though if it turns out they like to patch like some companies lol.  Like I said may be looking at a 3 gig patch (all together)  in 2 months lol.

No, I am not new to mmo's.  This is the first *BIG* patch though that I have had to dl for any mmorpg.  Most mmo's I played though were through a more Major MMORPG proudcer and built up companies.

Patches are a good thing, you should be happy. They improve and make the game better. The bigger they are, the better it is

I've played many a MMO and I know patches are a way of life, but a launch day patch is kinda lame especailly one so big.

So you would rather bugs be present on launch day just because your internet sucks?

FYI the patch took me about 20mins (maybe) to download. Was averaging a 1mbs download speed, I must say funcom's patcher is so much better than Blizzards.

Ummm I expect that it's relatively bug free.  If I were to buy the game maybe a couple weeks later then I can see a patch.

Besides you're assuming I am complaining about the time.... I'm loading the game now, I have no idea how long it's going to take.  I'm only saying that a patch on launch sucks.

I interpret it entierly different. These guys are serious about fixing the game. They will patch ASAP, and often as necessary.

The game still needs work, they know it, and they are working feverishly to fix it.

Some games won't do that. They'll patch every couple weeks, reluctantly. It's you, the gamer, who suffers in that case.

I think in Vanguard: SoH CB; a patch DL is about a day

I think we all understand that the patch is meant to benefit us all, however, I rushed home after work to load up this game. I was hoping to be able to try it out tonight but it's midnight now and it's been patching since about 8:00pmEST...

Gotta love the sub standard internet service they offer in my area but at the same a HUGE patch the day after launch sucks hard. At least for me it does, along with anybody else with crap internet like myself.

    Cry more.

Patches are a good thing and if you don't like it go play pokemon.

Well, the first patch didn't take too long.  Now I created my character and the game l adjusted the video settings, exited the game, and logged back on...... Now I'm hit with another 1 gig patch.  Good times
