We know the coding for transferring characters to testbed exists & this solution would utilise that code:



Make a new Level 50 only server where everyone can transfer to & level up to lvl 50 using those exp books (like those sold in the ah in beta).



On this server the only change would be that all exp became $$dbls.

Players could retain their characters on the other 4 servers if they so wished.



This would give everyone including newbies the same odds in PVP.

If existing players don't like it they simply go back to their current server, i don't see any real problems.

The amount of damage it can cause on the already empty existing servers is minimal & the probability of it retaining or bringing in new subscribers is high.



Knowing the FLS mentality they will unfortunately likely see it as more problematic than a solution.

I agree improve the game in general but this would require little work to set up for the extra profit it would bring in.

As for the game balance it would make little difference as the current servers couldn't be more un-balanced.



FLS need to look at this in a business sense to bring in more $$.

    firstly all this would do is make people get borred faster as they dont have to level up.  

    Next the idea makes no sense in so far as it is a level based game you would basically find all content to easy to do and your only purpose would be to pvp endlessly as all the content you could probably do in one sitting in a night with your eyes shut (such that it is)

    next that would leave the players actualy wanting to play the real game with less of a population and split the population further

    I'm not sure why you think this is a solution or fix because its not.  It fixes nothing as the game is broken period and levells aren't the only issue.   It would nto fix the core mechanices of the game or the economy or the fact that some classes (well most of them actually ) are totally useless. 

    It would also destroy the fabric of the original game and you would have two games probably forcing those playing the "real" game to leave .

    This is probably one of the most zany ideas I have ever seen and would put the final nail in the POTBS coffin if implemented.

    Well the nail is already in the coffin - other mmos lvl up its players for PvP arenas, it would certainly introduce affordable fair PvP & make it much more fun like it did in beta just before the wipes.

    The existing 4 main theme servers would not be effected as they are already dieing fast, this would in my opinion add an exciting fun option to the overall game to stem the tide of players quitting.

    Agreed the PvP & endgame is broken, the game design is unbalanced, players are leaving because of its unrewarding ganking design. 

    The whole problem with PvP in Potbs is two-fold,

    On one hand many PvP players do not want to risk anything & only pick fights with traders for their cargo.

    On the other hand traders do not need to risk their cargo either by avoiding red circles or making sure they don't get caught by attacking Npc ships to obtain enough time for immunity to attack.



    So all that is left is ganking of innocent newbie traders which is killing the server populations.



    As a consequence of this design the ship loss is minimal & was never going to be enough to support the huge economy.



    The broken game design itself is SELF-DEFEATING as high level gank squads kill the game for newbies.



    What we need is fun PvP where there is something more worthwhile to fight over. By more worthwhile it had better be good as only fools or bored lvl 50's would risk an expensive ship.

    The lvl50 server idea would bring back balanced affordable fun into PvP & it is FUN that most people pay for. The current end-game offers nothing, at least a skirmish server would offer something until FLS fix PvP.

    It likely will never happen but at least i tried  - it feels like general Custer's last stand lol

    That was probaly the worst idea i've heard in a long time
