"Out of memory"

Game has now closed 3 times giving me this message each time.

Dual Core 2.2GHz processor. 4GB 667MHz RAM. GeForce 8400M GT. 32 bit Vista. 300GB Hard drive.

I'm assuming it's something to do with my graphics card, which is giving me a lot of framerate trouble. But I thought with 512MB memory on it, and the max MB dedicated to it from my RAM that I wouldn't have any trouble.

Anyone else having similar problems or know a solution?

    Can anyone help please? I fixed the client using the simple config but nothing was wrong with it. Is nobody else having this problem?

    "Out of memory" errors are caused by RAM and virtual memory issues, not the video card. Try lowering the amount of system RAM you are dedicating to graphics in the AoC options (if that's what you did).

    Yeh I put as much as I could into the RAM, thought 4GB would be enough lol. But ok thanks I'll try that and see what happens :)

    1. You not donating enough hard drive space to your virtual memory

    or

    2. You have the aperature memory (i believe thats what it's called)... in your bios set too high and its using up to much of your ram memory.

    Also, realize that a 32bit OS (Vista 32bit) will only utilize slightly more than 2gb at most, due to the limitations of 32bit memory addressing.

    Vista, so it really only uses 3GB of it at a basic level. Pfft.

    I had a very similar sounding bug when Hellgate London first launched, and I researched it and found a vista hotfix for it on the microsoft support site - automatic updates had missed it somehow. Go on the MS site and type in the exact error message and see if it either offers you a download or maybe links you to a tech forum where people smarter than us have answered it in the past.

    Hope you get it solved soon, the only thing I can imagine being worse than having to wait another day for release is to have the game installed and face technical problems with it!

    are you in the Lachiesh plains by any chance, this seems to be a problem with that zone.

    Thanks, will try searching the MS site for the error code when it next happens. And no I'm not in Lacleish, I was in Tortage at the time of one of them I think, and Conarch Village.
