Play.com (UK) Pre-Order Issues

Alot of us on the official forum seem to be having this problem, where we didn't get our keys for the pre-order bonuses (a Rhino mount and a bag) and they have said they have ran out, lost them and funcom won't let them send any more, ect, ect, they've also tried telling us that they sent them all.
Is anyone here having any issues like this?

I placed my PO with play on the 20th of April and have had everything I should have had.
1. Pre order code for mount and EA
2. Game delivered before release date.
3. Working game code (although key problems are nothing to do with Play as they are in the box)

I had my game delivered today, but no pre-order keys, this is the first issue I've had with play, but they way I've been treated by them today has pissed me off.
I didn't get my mount key either...
You're lucky you got the game today. I ordered from game.co.uk about three weeks ago & they have deliberately tried to time delivery for tomorrow despite the monday bank holiday in the UK. They sent me a Parcelforce tracking number that isn't recognised by their website & given all the problems I have had with them in the past I am quite nervous as their next residential deliveray date is Tuesday!
If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

Mmm i placed my order with game.co.uk too - Didn't have any problems with them - except for the fact they didn't notify me the preorder delivery date was moved from the 20th as advertised when i ordered to the 23rd - so i was sitting waiting for the package. But everything arrived as it should have.
With my order from Game.co.uk (which arrived today) the mount code was on the back of the manual above the retail account code.
I got my pre-order and early access key sent sent to me well in time, but I still haven't gotten the game with the retail key delivered for some reason...
However, I got an email sent today claiming that they have shipped the game, but that most likely mean that I won't get it until after the weekend /sigh

It said the Mammoth code was in the limited edition pre-order box. Is this not the same?
I spoke to somebody in beta who claimed they recieved THREE preorder bonus keys from play.com despite having only payed once for the game.

hehe, I got that as well, my number... well apparently my CE was delivered to a dear old lady about 2 months ago, I even got to see her signature
they send me a rhino key in my email despite me cancling my order due to payment issues. now I have a rhino and mammoth and drinking cape key.

Interesting that you got yours from game.co.uk today, the customer services person I spoke to this morning was adamant that the world would end if I had been allowed my CE before tomorrow. I tried to explain that it made no difference for an MMO which didn't go live until the 23rd anyway, but you could almost hear the smug indifference over the phone.
The post in my area of London is so bad it's legendary, so I really hope tomorrow is the exception!

A little of topic but I ordered from Amazon uk and had to specifically send them emails as to gettting my pre order code for the items/EA. Needles to say they sent it far too late (16th may) game shipped today so i'm hoping the gods are kind and it arrives tomorrow.
On the +side, I ordered the CE on the 8th of April and the final cost from Amazon was...

Strange. They even delivered it on wednesday for me and held it in a local post office for quick delivery. Got it with the morning post. Seems strange that they have excellant examples with me and others and dire situations with others.
I received my pre-order key a day or so after ordering the game via Play.com
I've received an email with a citylink code and that is identified on the citylink site. So all seems fine with me. Looks like I got lucky.

This is GAME, doesn't surprise me in the slightest(I used to be a manager for them, bad idea that one was)
I have orders with both play.com and game.co.uk
If the Rhino and Mammoth are not provided it's going back for a refund, I'll buy from someone else, even if I don't get mounts from them, I refuse to reward incompetence.
Believe me, I'll get the refunds, I have emails, saved webpages, screenshots, all the info I need to provide to trading standards if necessary, they'll also lose my custom permanently.
Shame, because it really is a great game, to screw it up so badly with pre-orders.
Its certainly bizarre how something so simple as sending the pre-order bonus keys out via email once the orders are leaving the depots can be fooked up so badly.

Whilst initially all complaints should be forwarded to the retailers, in actual fact it is ultimately the fault of the manufacturer if THEY are the ones who are supposed to be giving providing enough pre-order codes to the retailers and have failed to do so.
So people are right to blame Funcom, ONLY if Funcom are indeed telling retailers that there aren't any more keys or are failing to provide them to the retailers.
However, if Funcom have provided enough keys, then the fault is with the retailer.

Play and other retailers (in the UK) have been seriously messed around by Funcom/Eidos with regards to pre-orders/EA.
I don't think play are at fault at all in this , they have no interest in annoying customers they couldn't care less if you have a mount.
You're correct, they don't have any interest in annoying customers. Not intentionally. But you're argument doesn't cover sheer incompetence or just bad luck on the part of the retailers.
Personally I'm not saying Funcom are incapable of faults. There's a possibility that THEY are the ones at fault.

Well, supposedly play.com are out of keys, yet they are still selling their AoC copies with an "Exclusive Play.com Rhino Mount".
False advertsiing my rear end, that's plain fraud.
Either way, Funcom have the means to fix this, it's a virtual item, they need to man up and impliment a way to dish out mounts to those people who were screwed.
