I would really like a small free trial on this game...

in City of Heroes

As I said I would really like a free trial on the game. It's looks kind of fun, but i hear both good things and bad things... And I am currently subscribed to one mmorpg, but dont want to subscribe to CoH just to try it out... ( Go ahead... flame me for that one::::02::) I know the game has alot of subscribers, and since it is, they probably can afford to give out some trials? can't they?::::02::

If the trial really happens one day, then i'll be a Blaster::::28::

    This game would make a bucket of money giving away a free trial. This game is a blast for the first few weeks. It's very stable has very little lag, and the graphics are out of this world, combat is fast and fun. It's not that difficult to get right in and start pounding away.

    After awhile though peoole just get bored doing the same thing over and over again. It takes a few weeks to realize how shallow this game is.

    Yeah, the game really needs a short trial, about 4 days.

    The game is incredibly shallow thou, but with the ease of making alts and trying out the various character types, makes it alot of fun for several weeks, but after that the boredom can set in.

    If you play a blaster you will do everything to be done in two weeks, so a free trial would be a disaster.  If you really explore the different ATs you will get a couple of months of fun out of the game.  It is up to you and your budget if $65-80 for a couple of months of play is worthwhile.

    Wrong I hate this game with a passion due to my high expectations, but a free trial would make them all types of money and here is why.. Almost all new games when they offer there very first  trial have it from 3 - 7 days, I cant think of one game when they first came out with a trial having it for  14 days...... In that 3- 7 days almost anyone in the world would get hooked on this game and go ahead and purchase the game... Thats where the money would come in, the bad will happen after these first month and they realize that this game can and will get boring as hell. Then the bad mouthing will really begin and eventually I believe will kill the game. Well maybe not kill it due to the fact that COH has there die hard Fanboi's that will not see any bad in this game.

      At this point COH is doing better than NC soft expected, so why have a free trial ?   There is a cost to the compaies for free trials. We are starting to have profesionnal trial players who never purchase a game, I for one can do without them in CoH.  In games with free trials you see them with dumb names begging all over, no thanks ..

    A free trial would be great, I have many friends who have seen me play, but want to try it out for themselves.  As for the plethora of negative posts in this thread, let me be the different one:  been playing since just before release, and STILL loving it, every minute I play it.

    Ditto.  I have been playing since a month before release while it was in closed beta and I love this game.  I have played several MMO's over the years and this is by far the best I have played.  For those who say it is good for the first few weeks and then it gets boring, you're entitled to your opinion, but I have to disagree with you completely.
