I quit over a month ago. GU5 made me see the light that SOE will never finish and polish Vanguard and do it justice. Instead they just keep adding more un-necessary mounts, re-write after rewrite and neglect the things that need fixed. So yea, sadly,...until Vanguard has better management I am done withit.
AoC gets my vote. i just can't stand mushrooms and space shuttle decoration
seriously tho, its such a waste vanguard went like this, it used to be such an awesome game..

Game of the year? I would say no.
Easily not. If you narrowed it down to maybe the best MMORPG of the year yes maybe i could see that. (haven't played just saying what it could be)
Game of the Year? No freakin way, console games are included with this game. And from just reading the bashing this game gets. (instanced, need a super computer, Boss's not dropping loot?!?!?)
No its not game of the year, not even close. Most game of the year games are standard single player story line with a multi player with it. And it also matters what review site your looking at. All have a biest twords companies and game types.
So saying this game is "Game of The Year" is a very very big long shot and i highly dought this.

You are brave to bring this kind of post up this soon after launch, there are still way to many trolls hanging around.
So far i have leveled two chars in tortage and left them there, i am waiting for some EU freinds to join me before going out into the rest of the world. There was a thread made about this being boring to do after the first time, given that you get different destiny quests and alot more time to enjoy the veiw, i am going to say i enjoyed the second time around more than the first...really pleasent, very little stress...beautiful place, just taking time out to go for a swim is relaxing. Fantastic game.
EDIT: this is on a pvp server too..

I am gona vote next year. This install is so silly slooooow!!!
Obviously too early to tell, but it could well be a contender, there are lots of factors, how quickly they iron out bugs, how many copies they sell, how long the subscription base lasts, will DX10 work when they launch demo it in August? etc.
Still, it's an awesome game and certainly the best MMO offering since WoW.
Sorry, GTA IV will win Game of the Year. $640 million dollars in the first week alone. Nothing will touch it. As far as MMOG of the year, too early to tell. We have several more games yet to see this year. And besides, some of us are waiting a while to play AoC to give them time to get the game fixed/right.

1. It might win 'new' MMO of the year because no other 'big title' MMOs will be out long enough to compete (if they make it this year at all).
2. As somone pointed out, GAME of the Year, no. MMO of the Year maybe, keeping in mind line number 1.
As for AOC as MMO of the year we will see far to much still to come, WAR, AION, WOW expansion and possibly Stargate Worlds.
