Can you really disarm people by dismembering limbs?

In the PC Gamer preview, it showed a dude in beta fighting a guy with what looked like a special move icon above him and blood around the guy's sword arm forearm. The caption said, "Disarming Hyborian style" or something similar.

Well if you take someones arm off, then you are disarming them...
Hmm, Could be that that was an animation to kill the guy off and PC gamer made a lame joke... But I'm not sure about high level combos, just left Tortage yesterday.
It could've been a misleading joke but it looked like the arm was a frame away from falling off, it was seperated from the upper arm.
BTW, PC Gamer editors do make funny jokes sometimes...
Yeah, it probably did fall off soon after, but it was probably a fatality and as such a finishing move. Thus, he wouldn't have been fighting afterwards either way and afaik you can't chop off a arm (or head for that matter) in the midst of combat.
They meant it as a joke, I assume.
No, you cannot intentionally go after someones arms or legs or head in an attempt to cut it off, it is random when limbs get whacked off but rather cool to see, hehe
