Looking to run AoC.

SirtakSirtak Member Posts: 17

Hello MMORPG.com users, this is my first post and as is expected, it's a question to see if I'm able to run some of the higher-end (Computer usage-wise) MMO's.

The game i'm looking to run is Age of Conan. Here are my current specs.

AMD Athlon 64 3500+

2.20GHz/1564mbRAM

8800GT 516MB card

120GB Free space.

I'm curious to see what other games I will run and on what settings? I believe a pal told me I could run AoC on Low-Medium with about 25FPS, would that be at all correct? I thank you all in advance for reading and an extra thanks to any who decide to help.

Edit: I'm running on Windows XP.Pro

This is almost EXACTLY what the specs are on my secondary computer.  I have 2gigs of ram tho.  I do indeed get around 25-30 fps on a tweaked medium/low setting  seen higher out in the wilds.  I would upgrade that ram to at least 2 gigs tho to get decent performance.

I was surprised that this setup worked but it does.

Wow, my friend. Thank you VERY much for the hastly reply, I am glad to see that my setup can be able to run it with playable framerates. I will probably be upgrading the RAM as you mentioned, unfortunately I've only got DDR and using SDRAM Dual Channel. (More expensive on www.bestbuy.ca )

The ram i have is just the corsair value select stuff, nothing special.  Its super cheap on Newegg.com right now.  Might want to check it out.

I think a gig is like... $40 mabye?

I would use Newegg.com but thats a company that only ships to the United States. I live in Montreal,Canada. No shipment to Canadian Provinces makes me sad.:(

Aww really? Lame... well good luck in your search man.  Just know that with the 1.5 u have and that setup u will be able to play.

The lowest frames i had in game on that comp was about 15 in the aquilonian city, other then that no problems playing at all.  Check the game forums as well as there is a nvidia card tweak u can do to increase your performance as well as a general game tweak guide that helped me pull a few more FPS out of my second computer.

I just want the game to be comfortable. I don't mind severe lag in heavily populated areas.

So long as the game runs fairly smooth when i'm soloing i'll be satisfied. I just don't want to always be stuttering and the screen freezing for 10-20 seconds and all i can do is hear the sounds emitting from the game with a black screen ( WoW in a 40 man raid before I upgraded the PC )

Thanks for the reply though, I do appreciate it.

If Newegg dosen't ship to Canada, try Tiger Direct Canada. They also have some pretty good deals from time to time.
