I'm gonna say most likely you can run it just fine even at medium settings.  If you find it choppy lower it bit by bit until it smooths out.

One thing i liked was they gave the video options a lot of wiggle room.

I personally think people are blowing the requirements out of proportion.  We were able to get it going on an older PC 2.8 ghz at low settings with 1gb.  Did it run like shit?  Ya it did.  So if you have something better then this with the utmost important Ram it should run ok.

Another gb ram can't ever hurt.

i have a radeon 2600xt which is a bit compareable to a 8600, and its running ok, it did run very good in tortage, but on mainlands i had to lower render ranges (most other changes in the options did not make real differences fps wise) switching between low and med makes nearly no difference only thing taht really helps is lowering the ranges.

so if you really want to run it with max ranges then you probably will need a top end card and not a value card like 8600. I heared the old top end cards geforce 7900s or radeon x1950s do a lot better too if you want to use max ranges.
