Are Conan people going over to the WoW boards and insighting all of these WoW people to come over here and post these fake Reviews of Tortage?
Are the WoW-kids really this frightened that the gaming world is leaving them behind?
I keep reading these obviously fraudulent posts over and over and can tell they have not played the game past the starter dungeon, if at all. This last week there have been dozens of 'new' MMORPG.com names and accounts all started in the last few days all posting rediculous attacks that are hollow and empty of substance, but all trying to denigrate Conan.
You frauds can all stop now. We have about a million people that have purchased the game. We don't need you. You are irrelevant.
If it doesn't run on your system - sorry. a) Buy a better computer b) Redo your OS and Drivers. c) or purhaps it is just some mystical force in the universe that has decided to ruin your MMO experience. The game is running great on most people's mid to highend systems. The world of technology has moved on; games have moved on. If you want to hang on to old, outdated technology go play an old, outdated game. But don't complain about your low budget systems here. Buh-bye
If you don't like AoC - oh well. Buh-bye See you in the next game that we might share. We don't need you, nor want you. It is fine to say a parting word or two about a game as you leave, but you are missing the leaving part. Leave already. We don't need your professional opinion from the years of living in your mother's basement playing WoW. Don't care - you are irrelevant. Buh-bye.
If you do stay around here flaming a game that you never really played, never left the starter dungeon (Like many parts of this game, AoC's starter dungeon is the largest in MMO history - you don't leave it until 20th level) but if you are still here you have to ask why. We are wondering why you are here too. If Age of Conan has shone a light on the tombstone of your favorite game, it happens, get over it. Your favorite game will slowly die away like all toys do. AoC is just the bright light that has demonstrated that your game has entered its twighlight years.
It is understandable that you fear watching a game that you loved for thousands of hours growing old, growing outdated, falling behind as the MMO world moves on... but suck it up and get over it. Go play that game and love it as it passes away.
But you can do that elsewhere too.

this thread is very counter productive. It only exists to incite a flamed reponse
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I have noticed a few posters with 4 – 7 posts (total history) all of which are anti AoC. They are getting paid I think.
so many? I've seen a lot of negative comments on AoC, but I don't recall them specifically saying they are from the WoW forums.
Link to more than 5 threads started here by people from the WoW forums, and I'll admit there are a few, but not a lot.
-[edit]-Just for the record, and for flame insurance:
I do not play WoW (I quit a year ago) and I do not belong to the WoW forums.
mmmmm... Wiccan Women ....
Well I am no Wow fan but AOC currently rates somewhere near Guild Wars as a game. It isn't massive over instances and linear. Arena and raiding endgame which a lot of people will reach well before the free 30 days.
it is years since i played Wow but , eq2, vanguard (yes and i know how bad that was at release), eve are all; far far better than AOC and due to it's lazy design not so massive nature it may succeed as a one month single player but other than that it's a carebear game not sure it gets close to LOTRO either and i don't rate that either. Sits very close to tabula Rasa design but smaller numbers in instances better graphics worse gameplay.
So dissapointing that they can't even deliver a massive world that everyone can be in at the same time. Very dissapointing

Although I do somewhat agree that this post fuels some of the fire, I do have a response to the original poster about the topic at hand.
People come here to flame these forums for several reasons. One is that it, traditionally, is human nature to fear change. New MMO's bring new technology and ideas--some good and some bad--to the table. Some people see something new in an MMO that their's lacks, and feel immediatly uncomfortable. No, this isn't everyone by any means, but some very diehard players feel this way.
Another issue is the whole instanced zone deal. WoW, as everyone knows, plays out as basically a giant world without loading times (except dungeons of course.) Because AoC doesn't use this technology (very few MMO's I have personally played do) people jump upon the hate bandwagon and cite this as the major problem.
I also find the hate interesting since this game has been live for about 6 days. WoW wasn't built in a day--its taken four years to get the game to where it is now. It simply requires time for a game of the MMO magnitude to get up and running.

Its the government man i tell you! Put your tin foil hat on, they brain wash you with those hate threads.
if you think this game will have a million subscribers you're out of your mind. read the official forums 8 out of 10 posts are complaints. everyones on their 30 free days right now give it a month and watch all the "i'm not subscribing" posts pop up. i can tell by your post history that you're an aoc fan and that "buh-bye" that you some how fine cute/amusing well you be seeing alot of that in a month.

Someone creates a MMORPG account just to bash AoC? And not one person but many? I don't think so.
Why would anyone join a general MMO community just to bash one game?
When someone has one post history and they start a thread saying check out this new game. You know they are advertising. Same thing going on here, grow a brain.
Not true. That is just general. Check out some of the other forums.
Yes because 6 days after WoWs release everything was all fine and dandy, if you read the coveted stable WoW General forums right now you'd think that the world was ending.
AoC has already added servers, you prediction of its 'demise' is premature to say the least.

Cant remember who said it here, but i agree with it."AoC isnt competing with WoW 3,5 years ago, it's competing with the WoW of today."

Yep but once again this game is 6 days old, startup issues are commonplace in MMOs. Compete with WoW today? OK, let's talk about WoW. Arenas or raiding.....that's the game of WoW today. I've played WoW since release and it's time to move on since 'easymode' has become commonplace over there, the game simply is boring.
I'm in my 40s in AoC and loving every minute of it, working on crafting and then going from there. I have no regrets but WoW isn't for me anymore and I'm not alone in this feeling, this isn't the 'new game' syndrome either. The game is excellent and fun to play, I wish they'd revamp their chat system which is pathetic but I can stand waiting on that.

What are you talking about? Just because there is a 2 second load screen between a zone makes it less massive? Have you even went into the Wild Lands of Zelata? ITS ENOURMOUS! AND BEAUTIFUL! I climbed up a mountain just to take screenshots of the massive area and I couldnt get it all in 3 screenshots.. so wtf are you talking about
and boring gameplay? What other game aside from, say D2, that you chop heads off, slice necks and blood goes everywhere? No auto-attack + shield system makes very active combat, you need to adjust your usual combo tactics because of the opponents defense concentration..
How in Crom's name is this a carebear game where it offers FFA PvP, gankers everywhere, and your only chance to survive is either in numbers or personal SKILL and not level... I've killed many lv40s and im only a 33 ranger, it is based on skill a lot too.
You obviously have no idea what your talking about, or you just bleakly hate AoC and are not seeing the good things in it.
Have fun in your instanced servers OP, I for one wouldn't touch this game with a 5 foot pole. I'll go play my instanced servers for free in CoD4 instead.

Its not just that its all the instances in the zones and its the fact that you have to load a zone even when getting res'd. But mostly for me, its all the damn instances in one zone. Take the multiplayer immersion out of it for me.

That same zone also has a TON of places you cannot get to. Invisible walls and such. Its a big zone, but there are too few and far between.

At lvl 45, the combat is becoming very boring. Fatalties are fun but after you do em a lot it looses its luster (which is ok..its certainly not a bad thing). The attacks are like auto attacks. While you dont auto attack per say, you still have a lot of button smashing to do. If you are a mage you in worse luck.

I agree. Its not a carebear game but its also not a good PvP game either. The PvP is seriously flawed and needs a lot of work.

You got bored after 4 years?
Go figure you think its easymode, that happens when you spend hours/day on one and the same thing.
WoW is what every other game is. IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT.
And AoC is making the way into a garbagebin at my place.
Well, not entirely true, i ordered the CE-box which will soon be at an auctionhouse near you

How many million wow players and you have to ask why? THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!! WOOOHAHAHAHA!
It is pretty sad. maybe they're completely bored with it. They obviously aren't playing it posting here so much.
I got EQ2 when it first came out and loved the game but most of my friends were playing WOW which came out about the same time. After more than a year with EQ2 I finally went over to WOW just to play with my friends and little brother. I leveled many characters up to about 30 but only made it to 70 with my Pally and my Druid. The cartoon graphics always were a big turn off for me.
Now that I have played AOC I think it is a very good game. It has some bugs and needs some refining but overall I am surprised at how much fun it is. I usually get bored fairly easily but this game has taken over my life and the world seems so believable and engrossing where as in WOW I just went through the motions and never really got into the storyline. WOW always seemed kinda simplified and dumbed down also. I wanted more complexity and customization of the characters which I thought EQ2 and now AOC both seem to offer. Zoning never really bothered me because it only takes about 3-5 seconds to change zones and I have just a simple 750 Gig. 7200RPM drive, no fancy RAID setup.
I agree that most but not all of the negative reviews I have read about AOC leave me scratching my head because they sound like the person hasn't ever played much of AOC. I really like how when you walk on a rough surface or when there is a person or rock in your way it stops you and you have to move or jump around it. In WOW you float through people and walk over rough terrain like it is smooth.
I crave realism in my MMO and AOC seems to be heads and tails above WOW in that respect therefore I see a long happy future for the two of us assuming my fiancee doesn't hide my computer.
