Aoc pvp players are a joke

I'm passing through Conall's Valley, I come across a guy roughly 4 levels lower then I, getting attacked by 5 NPCs. Its obvious he is going to die, looks to be a ranger. I run up, pull three of the guys off him, he is able to handle the last two while I finish these three off.
After the fight, he tells me 'thank you' and thet he was about to be killed. I move on and get jumped by 2 more NPCs just down the road, and he roots me and starts shooting me in the back. He kils me with very little effort, I revive and ask him what the hell was that about, and had a small conversation with him; with his replies being the following during the conversation. "Lol it was like over 9000", "You got owned -----", "your gonna get raped", "go reroll pve lolol"
I told him I was definatly going to return for a more even fight, he said thats not how he rolls, and that he would be charging his laser waiting for me. When I got back he was no where to be found.
This is NOT the first time I run into people like this, who are just absolute jerks. I don't mind picking a fight with someone, or having a grudge against a guild, but come on, do some people have any respect for anyone other then themselves

Come over to a PvE server. You may still have the immature community but you wont have A-holes doing this to you anymore.

I was hoping for alot less of these incidents in a mature rated game. But, it could be some 'adults' playing this game are adult in title only.

welcome to pvp. whether you have a cushion like wow with factions or straight up ffa pvp in aoc or vanguard, you'll always run into nubcakes like this. Eventually you get used to it and it doesn't bother you much any more. At least in ffa you can send a tell to the loser and let him/her have a piece of your mind if you're so inclined.
In addition, I tend to write down the names of these jerkoffs on my blacklist, and make sure to gank them whenever we meet up in the future. Sometimes I'll even make a point to corpsecamp or rezcamp them for payback in full. Revenge is very sweet.
Stupid players are a plague now, because MMOS allow them to be total jerks and still succeed, not needing the help of others thanks to all the solo content.
Sorry but any PvP game in this day and age is going to be like this, the old MMO community is gone and we're stuck with the new-age morons. PvP servers are allows magnets to idiocy.
I think I can accurately predict the series of responses to this. I hope I'm wrong on one of them

Even if I'm wrong about the responses, it really is pretty lame, but there's always gonna be people like that... especially in FFA PvP.

This type of play happens in any other game that lets you do it, right down to even runescape. Take boobs out will these types of player still be there? yes of course.
It depends on what server you play on, RP-PvP servers generally have a better community, a code of conduct and on the most part respect.

Sure it can be, on Cimmeria I would say 75% of the player base is from guilds who have a code of conduct laid out over a year ago (Hyborian Accord). Sure its going to happen, but at least it is not some faction type game where I can't attack a dickhead back again. Then again its a guild based game and best to travel in numbers due to the nature of the world.
I hate that happened to you ,but i dont think you can limit the topic to AOC players.I've ran into the same level of maturity in every mmo i have played involving pvp.As mad as i get when things like that happen it auctally pushes me to grind harder so i can hopefully turn things around the next time things start to go wrong.

I have no problem with this at all, it's the very nature of ffa pvp. I most likely would have helped too, but fully aware of the fact there was a good chance he would give the ganking a go. Like some other guy said keep a list it really helps with the frustration.
What is total ass is the way pvp is implemented, the ruleset doesn't make sence in fact its barely a ruleset at all. The mechanics also conflict with ffa, they need to get rid of the zoning thing during combat because it ruins the whole pvp aspect for me, way too easy to exploit. There needs to be a death penalty of some sort at least in some situations. These imo are small things, easy to implement but make a world of difference. I'm sure they'll get around to sorting it, just hope it's not too late it's still early days I guess.

Do you honestly not hav a problem with the way this person acted even during a conversation. Free pvp is one thing but being a jerk is just another. Yeah it was his choice to kill me or not, even if he I did do something for him, but the conversation after wards and his comments were not needed.
I have been over hearing the phrase, "its just a game" alot lately in the OOC chat in AoC. Though that is true, a game or online has some reflection of your self. There are alot more people who act like this then there should be.

True, back in the day the devs actually cared about the community now its how many subs can be get..... IE dont even ban the plat spammers or anything cause "there paying sub fee's"

I don't care what game it is. I've seen that same type of thing in all pvp games. Which is why I play on pve servers.
Not all, but allot of pvp players will use every exploit, and take advantage of every situation for their benefit and it just makes the game not fun for me because I refuse to do the same.
