1. AMD processors are having issues with AoC at the moment.
2. Try to get another 2 gigs of ram

thank you for the advice have since ordered new PSU, processor and an addtional 2gs of RAM I hope this will help me get decent FPS.
seems slower for me compared to Wow..i have over 200 FPS at times.
on AOC i get over 100 at times...but, im sure that has to due with graghic requirements as wow Requirements are lower to accept more users. not bashing wow just saying system requirements are higher for AOC.

To OP your comp stats look good except cpu 3.0 ghz requirement and maybe a little extra ram memory.
right...they should have that AMD thing fixed very soon too

Better make sure he has 64-bit OS then because no 32-bit OS can actually make use of more than ~3GB of RAM.
I belive you just solved your problem right there. But upgradeing to a 64 bit OS is another thing you should consider if you want to spend that kind of money on the game.
That machine is better than mine and I get 30 to 40 fps in Conals valley and over 100 fps inside dungeons.
Here is what you should do:
The game code is pretty strange, when you have a GF 8800+ card then you actually lower performance if you set the settings to medium or low.
Set the setting to high and then twist things down.
What I did was that I clicked on the high setting and then I set visual distance to 1200 m, the universal shadows to low quality and then turned off bloom.
Gave me a big performance enhancement over having first set the game to medium and then turning up elements.
